And not to wander off the beaten path but if you think that you can take any 4.6L block and throw some main studs on it and have a block that will handle 2000hp you are very mistaken.

My Mustang buddies have let me down today.
yes i know there is a difference. but i also know that cast iron blocks are stronger.

Then again, I haven't checked too much into the entire place, so I'm probably just putting a foot in my mouth.

On a side note, I could have sworn LSx have the same hyperUcrappy made rods/pistons as a mach/MGT. No? How do they handle that power level?
I found a few when I searched. One was over 700 HP on a completely stock LS6 shortblock. So how does that leather taste?

I may be wrong but doesn't the LS6 motor come with titanium rods? Highest pre-03/04 4.6 cobra motor that I knew of that put down over 600rwhp was a guy with a 98 cobra. Completely stock longblock he put down 603rwhp at 19psi out of a little s-trim. That's pretty impressive.

The rods aren't titanium.

I guess you were part of the team at Ford that put a heavy *** brick..I mean block made out of iron in the 03 Cobra because it will take more abuse than the lighter aluminum one. I'm sorry but show me proof that a cast iron 2v block is stronger than a 4v aluminum one.

THat is impressive. He must have been boarder line washing those cyl. down with fuel and some fraction of timing. That's crazy.

They are...and that's what Stop is talking about.....he was refering to the usage of cast iron instead of an aluminum.

Fact is Ford new the alum block could handle the power of the 03/04 cobra setup. They went with the cast iron for the added insurance.

Let me ask you........if someone told you you won a few thousand or several thousand dollars, would it matter or is it all the same?

When did they start putting valves in blocks? Damn ford is really screwing the pooch if they are doing that these days....

Better check those hypereutectic pistons in your RX7 too, I hear they are really prone to breakage!!
