Default DSM Talon on 25 PSI VS Formula CB and FTRA

From a 40 roll, worse choice for my A4 3.23 trans, started in second, went and didn't spin thankfully(grounds really cold) he surprised me at 55 I had 3 cars on him by the time we were at 80 maybe a car and by 110 I stopped he pull but then had to brake. Good run wanted a 45 roll. I asked originally for a dig but he chickened out of the dig the dam thing was the loudest non ricer sounding car I have every heard the urbo sucking in the air was so ******* loud it was ******* crazy I mean ******* crazy there is nothing else to describe it. I though it was just rice but it is a decently built car, 25 pounds or not, his GF filmed it but I dout I'll see the vid

Wait...your dead spot, and you had 3 cars on him by 55? Or did you mean he had 3 cars on you, and you started pulling back on him, and by 110 you had cought up? Anyway, nice race. What turbo was he on? 25 psi is alot, and I don't think the stock 25s can push that kind of air. So if he was on a larger turbo, more props to you man.

More info on the dsm please. My 16psi dsm would have killed you from a roll and it wasnt nothing special, if he lost and has a proper setup then something is broke.

my 90 gst 5 speed running 20 lbs on the stock turbo w a 3 inch turbo back exhaust and a custom cold air intake i made from home depot pieces would hang all day long from a roll with my roommates 6 speed 98 Z28 w catback and a lid and pull on him on the highway. i think that car was a factory freak though cause at 15 lbs it was beating Lt1s

How much boost a car runs is totally irrelevant without knowing what turbo is being run. A stock t25 talon turbo that can do maybe 250hp tops at 20psi is not the same as say a big garett that can do maybe 550hp at 20psi.Just pulling numbers out of a hat to make the point. Its not boost its airflow that matters. Course running higher boost on the same turbo should make more power until it hits its max airflow then further boost dont' do much.

If you see the sig I have a few dsms. The awd are killer off the line and off the lights destroying most cars that are not on drag type tires. They are also pretty light the awd coming in around 3100 same as z06 vette. Fwd are even lighter but harder to hook up unless they are on drag tires.

Up until doing my 99 twin turbo 408 thing my 97 talon was my fastest car , my 91 race talon is not done yet. Anyway love my v8s and love my turbo awd talons. Both big fun.

do yourself a favor, pick up a 90-92 galant VR4. same drivetrain and engine (even awd) as the DSMs, but with four doors and total sleeper status.

PLUS since not ever kid on the block has owned one, they are RARELY in horrible condition since there kinda rare. i picked mine up for 3500. 155k on the body, 55k on the engine and trans. tried selling it, nobody wanted it, so misfortune struck my other DD (2003 corolla, damn water pump) and now im using it...i am SO glad i didnt sell the damn thing now,

I thought my FWD DSM was a lot more fun than my AWD. Didn't hook as well but sure felt better in every other aspect.

What were his mods? 25psi doesn't really say much when you don't know what turbo he was running. I do agree with you that you having an auto is an advantage from a roll if you are closely matched. Good kill.

you said thankfully you didn't spin, and then "the ground was really cold"...kind of contradicting statements no?

good kill
