Running a Badass Mustang GT tonight. What to do?
Ok, I got a friend who has a badass Mustang GT, he has pulley's, MAF, throttle body, exhaust, etc. I ran him before and beat him, since then he has put pully's on his car. Is there anything I can do before tonight to give me a little bt more power. I know i can take out my air fliter, and let air out of the tires, but is there anything else?
Its only a 1/8 mile track, and I am worried about breaking loose on take off.. This is for Bragging rights !!!!
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks

Do not take your air filter out, It will make too much turbulence and foul out your maf readings.
A better bet is to take weight out of your car. jack, seats yadda yadda. good luck
And pullys dont do a whole lot so I dont think much will change

How about having about 1/4 of the gas tank filled or less???....enough for you to run him....and enough to get to a gas station when you are done!!

on a basically stock car (especially in the 1/8 mile) your biggest gain is going to be in the launch....I'd say go get some drag radials and smoke him!!

Pulley's on a GT are pretty much unnoticeable as far as power wise. Concentrate on your launch and you should own him!

You can pull the front sway bar off, takes about 20 minutes. Empty your windshield washer fluid. Make sure you dont have any extra junk in the car. Air the front tires to about 45 and the rear around 25.

I would say run your car out of gas, put 8.5 gallons in the car.. When you put 8 gallons in it resets your timing map and gives you more advance

hes right if you've had knock retard it stays in the computer untill you get gas. i dont know if 8 gallons is how much you need but it does reset and give back all your timing when you get a certain amount of gas.
it makes sense if you think about it, you could have been running 87 octane and now you want to fill up on 94 so the computer will give back all your timing and you will have more power.

OK, I get it. But, I wouldn't run my car out of gas. Wouldn't that overheat the pump and run the risk of burning it out?

I would suggest weight reduction, get everything from the seats to the cigarette lighter out of the car.
Also go to your local shop and get some NAWSSS, 2 bottles

Should still handle him stock
My SS Convert A4 put a spankin (radial to radial) on my 93 LX (13.0 on tire). At 1/2 track it just started getting ugly...need to go full 1/4 for the real effect!

Yeah, the pulleys aren't really gonna give him an edge. I'd say you'd still romp him. Plus, I have really yet to see any "bad ***" Mustang GT
