,

The air wasn't bad, it was in the 60's in the morning, and then went up to 70's in the afternoon, it wasn't 40F by any means, with Atco or Cecil prep, i'm sure you know Fontucky , Now i'm curious as how you came up with that -222DA number. I raced many times at that track when i was living in southern Cali, and i don't recall, not even once, racing in Negative DA's at Fontana, even more, those runs were done in the OLD track Layout, the one where the wind was blowing against the nose of the car, remember those days ??

http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php

If you use this it does a weather look up and then you can pick the time (i just go as close as possible).. .for corrections it will include your elevation (I just subtracted the elevation to look at the raw DA)...

I know what you mean about conditions...DA is negative 4000+ right now here... (just to shitty to have the tracks open ).

Log IAT and Ignition Timing, do a log in the morning, lets say 10min after a cold start, do a quick 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd run. then heat soack the biatch, just leave her idling for a while, and then log your timing and IAT one more time, you can throw ECT as well in the logs, and take a look at the differences in timing, i could almost guarantee the difference between ECT temp and timing won't be as much as IAT vs timing. Again, i have no idea how Ford did the settings for your car, but from others people tunes, non LSx engines, but GM still, IAT Timing was there to kill engine power, that of course is there to help your engine out in lets say, 115F summer days in Vegas . the IAT location in the GTO sucks, and the settings are a little too aggresive for stock cars. mine doesn't remove timing until the IAT gets to 113F, of course, if i see any pinging as a result of ambient weather vs IAT, i can makes changes really quick.

Check the Hptuner forum and see if their VCM Pro would work with your car, , you can go into the forums and ask. Or you can contact SCT and see how they can help you, i had an 03 Mach1 before the goat, and used to use SCT Xcal, and i can tell you, you can't do crap with it, is either that, or you have to pay $400 to get a POS PE Rape "pro" tune and switch the tunes back and forth with the SCT handheld, and well, you already paid for the cost of the handheld on top of what you pay to the shop doing the tune on a dyno.

Well, even using the link you provided

Jan 15 2006

1:53 PM 59.0 F 42 % 30.08 in

track elevation according to dragtimes 1110

it came with a DA of 1283ft

and using

4:53 PM 55.9 F 37 % 30.09 in

i get 1048ft

my 13.07 corrected would be a 12.94 @ 109.517 MPH .....

I don't know how did you come up with the -222da yet ???, again, i've never seen negative DA at Fontana, and i know that day wasn't different, granted, not a 85F day, but i don't recall been that cold like the dragtime weather report shows, still, very impressive tool and bookmarked for the future

im pretty new when it comes to messing with the tuner but i have messed with everything on it. ive tried data logging b4 and i dont remember y exactly but i know it wouldnt let me. i wish i could run my car after a couple minute warm up cuz i know it would easily bust off a high 12 @ 111+. another thing is my 3v has variable valve timing and i know thats killing me when it gets hot out. and when its cold its very hard to drive. horrible driveability, surges and the vvt kicks in and out.

I took off the elevation... 1048ft - 1110ft = -62ft (I fubared something when I did it I am sure. )

When I started looking at C&D's trap speeds (they don't powershift) vs. real-world results, there was a consistent 2-3mph higher margin vs. C&D. They also adjust to zero DA.

Just ask Jaimie Furman and Ranger, too!

Hell yeah he was coming. My car was bone stock to the paper filter,a-5 auto 331 gears. My car is still slow lol!! and now has a tune cai 13.10's at 105 .78 with the 331 gears 2.00 60ft. The guy in the Gto is almost stock with a cai 6 speed car.Good friend of mine btw. My point is the tune helped out alot 410 gears pulleys and long tubes it would easily go mid 12's. Add a stall who knows?
