hey i am new and yes i drive a 07 stang gt, but really love all domestic fast cars,and love the ls1 and fbodies. however me and my buddy who has a 2002 ws6 keep racing and now we only race until 70-80 ish. i have awlays thought ls1 were, you know the thing to beat , but when we raced from 20-80 i have at least a car on him everytime, i also know that you guys are monsters from third gear, so first question does me having a car on him until 80ish sound right, 2 do i have a chance after 80+

His mods are the stock slp package, he has a k&n and a pretty bad *** tune form what he says...i have a 91 octane tune and a c&l cold air intake

oh yeah i have a 5 speed manual, he has a 6 speed

well honestly from a roll only realy swtiching gears from 1st to second i dont see how you can **** that up.. i could be wrong but i dont think its driver mod.

If he has all the stock SLP mods and a "badass tune" then he should be beating you everytime so I think it either he is lying and dosen't have anything done to his car with driver mod or you are bullshitin.

well i bullshit you guys not i have no reason to. In his case he bought it from some random dude that aid it had a badass tune other then that i would think its a stock ws6. and i know he will get me in the end for sure! i basicly thought i never had a chance. but i am in from when we shut down at around 80. and like sarge said i think i could hold him off untill at least 80-90ish from a dig that is. when we go from a dig i will let post it up win or lose cause i dont care if i lose, there is always somethign faster ya know... but dosent mean i wont mod lol.

ive run a few of those stangs with different mods, i have a 01 WS6 m6 with full bolt ons and tuned by slowhawk. i have never had one pass my back bumper yet. the closest race was from a dig, i had crappy tires and spun to all hell threw 3rd when i bit and caught him and put a half a car on him. but i also have full bolt ons. im at 381 rwhp, and put down 311 rwhp stock. so judging by that, you guys should be a good race but he will get ya in the top end definately. id have to say either he is shifting too early, or something is up with the "tune". switch cars with him and if u beat him by the same its driver mod

OP - yes, your race sounds about right given the MPH range of your races. Do a full 110 run though...and he'll be ahead.

i'd have to say he is most likely shifting a little early, has a couple plugs bad or just plain can't drive.

i hate to start a huge **** flingin battle but when i had CAI and an UD pullies in my LT1 [rated much lower hp than LS1] i was dead nuts even with a 05 GT [pretty sure he was auto too] from about 65-110.

A) you went at and up to higher speeds. your car's advantage compared to his disadvantage.
