Default 02 z28 vs new mustang Gt

My mods:slp CAI, flowmasters, weight reduction, 6 speed
HIs: unknown
i was cruising home from work, and this mustang gt conv was probably going 75 to 80 coming on to the freeway from a differnt freeway.
He slows down after he sees me, and waits till i get next to him, and he starts toying with me.
I said what the heck, why not, So i drop it into 3rd at 65 and we both punch it at the same time. i end up pulling a car on him by about 100

Second time he gets behind me and floors it to go around me and this time i was in 4th at 80. I punched it as he was at my rear fender. He catches up to my nose and by the time he gets there he is losing ground quick. By 115 im about 1.5 cars ahead.
Was a fun race and the guy gave me a thumbs up at the end of the race.

He must have been a full bolt-on car if it was a vert, and how much weight reduction?

The vert's add 300 pounds? It's been a while since I've looked it up, but are you serious?

Nice kill OP. I agree he had to have had some things done to hang like that.

Pony do the new gts pick up a bunch from just a catback? in a buddys ss with just full exhaust he killed a stock auto one then a catback only car gave him a lot better run. The catback only lost by a little more than car. Id say a car and half.

No. Axleback's do nothing but sound on the new S197. Well, nothing notable. Either driver difference, (auto, so I doubt) or there was more than just an axleback, like CAI/Tune. CAI and tune do alot for S197s because of the factory craptunes.

Ok....150 pounds sound more like......I wasn't thinking race weight, just vehicle weight. I hardly ever think about race weight when it comes to the street.

yes the 2010's.. the brand new ones with the front lights/ rear new design with the 315hp.. I guess they call us motor city for a reason. I know we build alot of cars here in Michigan. I'm not even sure when they are suppose to come out but im sure its sometime around spring. I guess they are just in the process of testing them and street driving them but like i say i see alot of them riding around. The last 1 i seen was like a kind of light blue. It was sweet.

Nice kill OP. The 2010's look cool. And I bet none of you LS1 guys have this... they have a rubber hose that transfers the engine sound into the interior.

haha i thought they had head phones that plugged in to hear the engine and the hose was a extra exhaust port so you could smell the engine fumes lol!
