Well you also have to understand the amount of technology and development that went into the car. I mean, fully forged internals and titanium connecting rods in 1991? The price definitely got a bit too high late in the run, but for the cars that it competed with (and beat) back when it came out it was a great deal. I mean, in everything but a straight line that thing made Corvettes look dumb and kept pace with all but the fastest Ferraris on the track. It just stayed out too long.
Many of GM's small blocks had fully forged rotating assemblies bone stock off the showroom floor back in the 60's.
Its nothing new, don't try and give Honda credit where its not due.
It made Corvettes look dumb?? C4's handle pretty damn well actually, and for $20,000 LESS, the ZR1 would wipe its *** with the NSX.
