I had just bought a camera that was dead in the back of the car. I had been filming the events at the car show etc.. I had a power converter too and thought about charging it while we were talking on the side of the road... but I would have felt like an *** filming the slaughter.
Jack actually called me the other day and asked if I wanted to try the Z06 vs the Lambo again lol he did a tune up on it and bought like a 2k dollar CAI system for it I am hooking up the 150 shot tomorrow and if he wants to come over to MS from New Orleans you bet I will be taping that race... I am going to hose him so hard.

The current gallardo is the lp560, not exactly a baby by any means.
The superleggera as someone mentioned is also a track beast, and has outdone the C6Z on several roadcourses...
No it's not a straight line car or as powerful as a Murciellaggo, but I would never say it was "nothing special" or compare it to a Porsche Cayman...

I am only speaking from my opinion. I have drove i am guessing 30 or so Gallardos and about the same in vettes. A mild modded Vette pulls way harder then a gallardo. And i mean if i had the money to buy a lambo i might do it, bit i think i would rather throw all that money into a Z06 or just build a nasty fbody to upset all the ppl with the Lambos and Ferrari's.
I was just giving my opinion on the matter as well.
No offence intended in my comment.

I was thinking the same thing, but then again gearing, your mods and....
That played a part too.
The Superleggera was 11hp and 126lbs lighter weighed by an independent source. It wasn't that dramatic.
I watched a Lambo Gallardo put down about 320whp on my tuner's dyno at a dyno day a few years back. The owner wasn't too impressed by the numbers. He was even less impressed when my tuner told him a stock C6Z had put down 380whp earlier that day. A couple months later they took a picture of a Lambo Murciélago on the dyno for their new website. It baselined at about 435whp IIRC. Big difference between the Murciélago and Gallardo.
I always leaned towards the Murci myself, but the new LP560 is simply amazing.

I had made a comment about two posts prior about all Gallardo's being lp560's, but forgot about the superlegera. I was just saying that even though it doesn't match the lp560's tune of hp that it makes up for it in lightening of weight and suspension so it's essentially a lp560. They're within a .10th of each other in the 1/4, but the superlegera is track ready. Kind of the 430 Scuderia's competition.

552hp vs. 523, 11.2 @ 129.5mph vs. 11.7 @ 123mph going by R&T and C&D. Their procedures are close enough to point to a significant difference between the two.
