Killed a Lambo Gallardo
I was on the way back from "scrapping the coast" one year and there was a Orange Lambo in the left lane ahead. I was in my 02 Z06 CAI, borla Cat-back, and it was lowered so I lined up next to him from a 40 roll and I pulled 2 cars up to 130. So we did this 4 more times and the guy in the Lambo was getting really pissed I could tell by his paddle shifting aggrevation. Same results after the 5th race we pulled off on an exit and talked. The Lambo was a 05 and only ran a 11.99 seeing as it was AWD I was getting the advantage of spanking that a$$ on the interstate. We exchanged number and he MADE me pop my hood and trunk... he just couldn't believe that it was only a CAI and exhaust car. I just thought that was pretty funny and a really good kill.

I will say i am not suprised. I worked at a Lambo dealership for 6 years and the Gallardo is nothing special. But the Superleggera is badass. Its just a little stronger engine and alot better weight ratio

Yeah, like most european car's their not really designed to do fast straights as well as the pushrods...cornering speed and suspension is where they have their advantage...
And ill agree with Cya Vtec, the gallardo's are really the babies of the lambo family...kind of like the porsche cayman...good idea, but not the cream of the crop for lambo...
Nice kill either way OP

The current gallardo is the lp560, not exactly a baby by any means.
The superleggera as someone mentioned is also a track beast, and has outdone the C6Z on several roadcourses...
No it's not a straight line car or as powerful as a Murciellaggo, but I would never say it was "nothing special" or compare it to a Porsche Cayman...

All gallardos are lp560 now? When I originally said bottom line Gallardo was 500....I was refering that car, against the lp560. Same as they have the merc, and the Merc lp 640. What is the different trim levels, so to speak, of the Gallardo?

Well yeah...i knew that...I wasn't really trying to compare the two (flat 6 vs v10), but more so that its like their "entry level" car.
It was a good kill, and it is not a baby in any sense of the word, but compared to the Murc, its not quite as quick
And yeah, the supperleggera is out of this world...it is a slightly softened track car...I'm sorry if I cam across like an idiot, I was in no way trying to bring down the Lambo...its a great car, just wasn't his day I guess

Gallardo Superleggera is the "base" Gallardo, and it's packing 510 horses. However it's lighter than the lp560, and does 0-60 in the same time, maybe 1/10th off. So they're not all lp560's, but may as well be. Pretty sure 1/4's in the low 12's for both.

I watched a Lambo Gallardo put down about 320whp on my tuner's dyno at a dyno day a few years back. The owner wasn't too impressed by the numbers. He was even less impressed when my tuner told him a stock C6Z had put down 380whp earlier that day. A couple months later they took a picture of a Lambo Murciélago on the dyno for their new website. It baselined at about 435whp IIRC. Big difference between the Murciélago and Gallardo.

Yea I was just as excited as Jack (gallardo driver) was confused lol. At first he thought he might not have seen right and my car was a c6Z06 and then when he saw it was a c5z06 he said he was telling his passenger that he thought I had a procharger because of my CAI whistle lol. But thanks everyone it was really nice to whip up on that 200k dollar car in my 22k dollar car for sure. Still when I got out to look at it I was still kinda excited to be checking out a Gallardo that I defeated.

Jack actually called me the other day and asked if I wanted to try the Z06 vs the Lambo again lol he did a tune up on it and bought like a 2k dollar CAI system for it I am hooking up the 150 shot tomorrow and if he wants to come over to MS from New Orleans you bet I will be taping that race... I am going to hose him so hard.
