Modded C6 vs CTS-V and Turbo CRX
I have been busy lately with work ( and trying to get a push rod issue solved trying to install a set of Harland Sharps ) but I went out for a quick run the other night. Ran across an 05-ish CTS-V and a Turbo CRX racing each other. I was just hanging behind them watching when we all caught a light. All 3 of us starring at each other.
Light goes green and they do nothing so I go half throttle away and then they both hit it and were almost about to fly by me but since my A6 tune, it stays in 1st gear until 3K (S mode only) so I was all over them. I pulled like a mother (3 quick cars) and let off by 80. Nothing big.
The CTS-V had 2 dudes in it and was hanging with the (actually nice) CRX with a loud BOV so he must have been modded, I guess.

damn nice runs Jay! And those 6 speed auto are seriously BA!
There was a C6 with lingenfelter ported heads and cam with a yank 3600 stall and exhaust running 11.60's all night in like 90 degree weather. Car was mean as hell and sounded beastly as hell too. Ohh and he was only cutting like 2.0 60's on DR's cause the track prep sucked huge donkey dick that night.

This is a serious question since I haven't driven an A6. Are they really that great? Would they be a good option over the manual in the new Camaro? I know you can't say what it would be like in the Camaro but auto Vette to manual Vette which is the best all around?

I'm actually bored with it and want to sell it but that may lead me down the divore path.
I should have done all this work to a C6Z (like I intended) and I would have 50-80rwhp more and weigh 150lbs less. Live and learn and I still can't comfortably afford one so in due time.

mid 120's IIRC
Stock converter holy ****! thats surprising. . .
Happens to the best of us man, some days i want to sell my car so bad and start over with an LSx series, then other days im totally into just getting ported heads and a new cam.

I actually prefer the A6 over the M6 since the times are nearly identical and with an A6 tune, they are insane fun. Don't forget, my last cars were KB Cobra (M6), 2001 SS (M6) and a H/C/N20 99 SS (M6).
When stock, they are pretty lame even with the stock LS3 but with plenty of mods, even with the stock converter they (LS2 or LS3) can trap 127-130 with the right cam/heads.

They are that nice huh? I'm a die hard manual guy so I have a hard time thinking about an auto. The other downside is apparently the auto requires the 400 HP engine instead of the 426 HP in the new Camaro. I'm sure this is just the dealer I've talked to because when I build my own I can have the auto with the 426 HP engine. If you were building a new Camaro the way you want would you choose the auto over the stick?
