No they aren't.....not on this side of town. All dig races over here. The only roll race I've had in 2 years was a bolt-on tuned GT-R by I-10 and 1604 area.

In my city...no organized racing, well that I know of atleast. Maybe a group of friends meeting up or whatever, but I have only had 1 organized dig race (blown S197), and maybe 1 random stoplight race. Other than that, I have had random highway races, cuz ****..that is what I could get at the time. If I were to go to more meets, I would probably be doing more dig races. My next dig race that I actually know about will be against PNYKLR lol.

Anyone that wants to have fun isn't gonna go drop their first 3-4K for parts in suspension and tires just to hook up their stock powered car. Not everyone races to get the label of "super serious hard *** street racer guy." I do dig or roll and just launch soft out of a dig. Some of you take this **** way too seriously.
"Roll racing is for guys who can't drive." -The stock A4 LS1 owner
"Dig racing is for cars with no power." -The FWD turbo 4 cylinder owner

Different strokes for different folks... it's all about having fun.

Normally some one rolls up on me and I give them the beatdown and when I run from a dig it's mostly at a dragway. More rolling races on the street and from a dig at the track.

I prefer racing from a dig, but it really depends on what I'm lokoing for. Obviously if I'm just cruising on the highway then it'll be a roll race 9 times out of ten since you can't stop traffic. If there's a place and good time to do a dig then I'll do it that way. If I'm trying to compare the hp of two cars (like if PSM or myself install a new mod and are looking to test it out for power gains) then a roll race is better. It's all in fun (unless there's money on the line which I don't do) so there is no right or wrong. I do agree that, no matter how you start the race, you need a finish line, otherwise the car with the higher top speed will win, or one of the people will kill themselves at 150+ mph.

Suspension parts don't matter that much.

When I lived in CA, I probably raced from a roll 80-90% of the time.

If your car makes some serious power, all the suspension parts int he world aren't gonna hook your car up without some TIRES.

I for one, don't want to have to change out my tires everytime I want to race someone just so I can race from a dig. Not to mention running around town with mix-matched tires/wheels makes it obvious to cops that your are looking to race, so if you get busted, you aon't getting out of it.

My T/A has all the suspension mods: LCAS, Reloc Brkts, Adj Torque arm, Panhard rod, drag bags, SFCs, etc...and it will not hook on street tires. The only tire I ever had decent luck with were Yokohama Advan road racing tires on 17x11 Zr-1s.

So for me, to find which CAR is faster (the entire reason for racing) a roll race is more accurate. I like to race from a 1st gear 15mph roll so traction isn't as much of an issue.

Those of you who think roll racing is weak, you obviously haven't been in a 4 wide roll race on a Cali- freeway....that way you don't find out who has the best tires, you find out who has the faster car.

I disagree. i think racing is about which car/driver combo is faster.

This topic can not be explained any better than that, but I must say that it's nice when you can get all three of the above mentioned treats

So if you race 2 auto cars against each other, the driver has a big impact huh?

I could car less about the driver, unless it was auto X, the race is to determine which car is faster, not who can drive better. So you are saying that if you race someone, beat them, then thier friend jumps in the drivers seat of the car u just raced and smokes you, you still think you beat that car?
