Saleen cobra or not, if the OP is about stock he wouldn't have pulled any supercharged 4v like that. Whatever it really is, good kill on him!

Thats sweet! I've always loved Saleens but hated the fact that they just used the gt with a blower, never thought they used a cobra. Sorry to get off topic but didn't they use a supercharged 351 in some of the Saleens in '99? I remember seeing one for sale a while ago, that seems like it would be a sweet ride as well.

Edit: Found an article about the '99 351 and 281 http://www.stangbangers.com/99_Salee...51_Article.htm

I've always liked the Saleen cars. If Ford would of stayed more true to the pushrod engine, with the Mustang at least, I would of probably bought a 96 Cobra instead of my 96 TA. I drove both and the Cobra was pitiful compared to the TA. Sorry but that was what I thought after driving both back to back. The Cobra was more comfortable though.

Stock geared 96-98 Cobra's are gutless cars. An 03 GT 5-speed felt like it had more grunt than my car when I drove one. Trying to decide now if i want to sell both my car and bike to get a Vette.

Yea the Cobra I drove was weak. The salesman was a guy I knew pretty well and he thought it was awesome. After riding in my TA he changed his mind. Funny how most of us think the LT1 cars aren't that great, in 96 they were the ****. LOL! Sorry for completely jacking this thread OP.

S351SC's are one of the VERY FEW saleens I'd grab in a heart beat. ~550HP stock

NOt surprising really. S281s, and S281SCs aren't all that quick in stock/light bolt on form.

I'd be here all day man....LOL. I agree A LOT of mustang variations out there.
In short (speaking of modular SN95/new edge - 96-04).

S281 - GT with Saleen handling package.
S281SC - GT with roots blower. Roughly 310-320RWHP pending year for new edge. low 13s generally.
S281E - Saleen extreme. Forged 2V with 500HP. Not sure of times.
S351 - GT with a 351W stuffed into it. Not sure of specs. Wanna say 320FWHP IIRC. mid upper 13s IIRC.
S351SC - Centrif. blown 351W. 500 or 550 HP (can't recall which). Last year of 1999 (the only New edge year for hte 351W).

Saleen Cobra - Basically all the same as a cobra, but with Saleen handling and body/looks. (99-04)

they all are good for 1.0+g's in handling.

THat's why I mentioned SN95s/New edges.....trying to keep the list short as possible. PLus, that's what was mentioned in the thread.

Obviously the Saleen Cobra would be the way to go due to it's massive performance/potential like all 03/04 Cobras, but even the regular Saleens looks freakin badass! I'd love to get an S281 SC and mod it up. Still a 2V, but they look awesome.

I agree. I've jsut never been one for something that looks fast, but isn't. I'd want to have some $$$$$ stashed for 'immediate' mod money if I got one.

An S281SC is on par with a mach 1. For having a blower, that's sad. But, I would LOVE a white speedster.

I'd still go with the 03-04 cobras. They're the only mustang that have *****. IMO and I like the freak'in car alot.

I don't think anyone has mentioned that Fords SUCK yet. Just thought I'd make sure everyone was still grounded and knew where they were.

I wonder what a full bolt-on/pulley S281 SC Saleen would make for power? Maybe throw some cams in the mix too.

I would think the Saleen would be faster than a Mach 1. I'm not saying it is, as I've never seen one run at the track, but it should make 40-50 more rwhp than a Mach 1, I'd think, and more torque with the roots blower.
