Default and ya lose some....

Last post was me beating up on a stock C6 Z06
anddddddddddd this post is about a loss to a stock LS1 with bolt-ons & N20

A local guy has a clean '00 Z28 with the ole zero option package and weighs a whopping 2700lbs w/ him in it.
He's got the BASIC bolt-ons (exhaust/converter/gears) and 100shot. This car is the definition of a clean stripper (no heat/no ac/no airbags/no cruise/no bumper supports/no door supports/no wipers/no horns and runs 15" Bogarts)
...you name it and he prob doesn't have it!

*clean drag race
I dump the clutch ~4k and mash the gas. The 17" Mickey's dead hooked and I got the jump (felt real good too)...shifted 2nd and spun pretty good, shift 3rd and by the top of 3rd/into 4th there he goes! In the end he pulled about 3 1/2 - 4 cars on me..

A true testament to the importance of weight (or lack there of) in racing...

.

The funny thing is we're friends and have two of the faster LSX based cars. Not many ppl want to step up so we had to race each other...

Wow, sounds like that car MOVES if he pulled on you that strong. Most people underestimate the weight factor big time.

That sounds like a badass matchup! Do you know what size shot he runs? Makes me want to go out with a sawzall and start hacking stuff off my car right now, lol.
