2002 SS vs. G8 GXP
So tonight I was on my way home from the gym tonight with my girlfriend trying to keep the car quiet and blend in being it was sunday, i didnt want to go fast, and i really didnt want trouble with the local PD because it was not my area and the have a reputation for being not mod-friendly when out of no where a silver G8 is in line at a red light next to me.
I look over and it sounds a bit louder than it should but has paper plates and being that i had never really seen one on the street before i didnt know exactly what it should sound like. I write it off and just go from the light all normal when all of a sudden this guy pulls of next to me waits about .5 seconds slams it into what i think would be first (we were going ~35) and hammers it and takes off. Now being that this was 1) semi ricer flybye and 2) there was about 3 car lengths inbetween him and the next car in his lane i decided i would break my lets not race anyone rule for sundays and see how the new cam does on the street
It took 2 or 3 more lights for us to get to the front of the line with him in front of me. The light turned green and he just hammers it which caught me off guard cuz i was leaving the light normal, so i kick the clutch and hope the new Mickeys hook which thank god they do and start chasing. He had about 3 cars on me at first, which closely became 1 1/2 by the top of second, as i hit 2nd i got over a lane and pulled next to him. Powershifted 3rd and instantly jumped out a car or more and just pulled away with ease. I saw his headlights set down around 100 where i was maybe 4-5 cars out. I could see his headlights in my rear view
Stayed real slow and quiet behind me till the next light where he threw me a quiiiiick thumbs up and jumped into the turn lane and was gone. God i love my cam The G8 was pretty sick tho. It had paper plates and alot of rasp and no visable pipes, so im assuming Headers -> Y or X? -> bullet and turn down. It was definitly loud enough to be that set up but not straight piped

You're blatantly lying about the outcome, or it didn't happen at all.
hahaha, nice run man GXPs are only seeing high 12s cause of the tires. And sadly the most of the people that own them haven't owned a sports car either ever, or in a really long time and don't know the guidelines of street racing.

Nice kill, OP. I haven't had the pleasure of running one yet but I'd LOVE to drive one.
My brother's G8 GT went 13.52 @ 102.9 bone stock with 600 miles on it so that DA was definitely killing the one you saw. They're the nicest cars I've been in for under $50k or so and they definitely move out for a 4,000 pound car (my brother's weighed 3,990 without him in it that day at the track). I can only imagine how hard the GXPs pull. Too bad they put those skinny *** 245s on them...
