the fox body weigh considerably less than the 94/95 5.0 correct?
i had a very close race with a S/C 5.0, he jumped ahead off the line but i began to reel him in, until his belt broke and he almost hit me. a 94 or 95 model. but i was bone stock to the filter and hadn't had my car for more than a couple months, one of my first races.
damn i would love to have a rematch now.
but he sold it for a T/A

As Screamin stated, it definitely depends on the year and trim level of the 5.0. My
'86 GT T5 weighed in at 3190 with the aluminum Edelbrock Performer 5.0s. Of course, the '86 GTs were lighter than the '87-'93 body style. The SN95s('94 and '95 models) were the heaviest of the 5.0s. My '01 Z28 weighs in at 3480 stock weight. The only stock weight 5.0s I can see underweighing me by 500 lbs. would be a stripper '87-'88 LX or especially a Notch.

Fox bodies usually weigh around 3100-3200 and the SN95s usually weigh about 100lbs more. Nothing that will make a difference. Anyone that says a 5.0 of any year stock for stock weighs less than a F-body by 500lbs is a retard.

So using that logic I should never beat a car that is lighter and has more power. But yet I have on several occasions. Hmmm. I also doubt a Fox in street trim weighs 500 lbs less than a f-body.

Ehh yeah there's no way a street trim stang weighs even 500lbs less. From what i've seen on the net over the years of modding stangs alot of 87-93 street mustang gt's weigh in about 3300-3400lbs a few coming in around 3100-3200 and lx's are 3100 to 3200lb's also like was already stated. A 330rwhp stock stang is going to have a hard time with even a stock M6 LS1. I've noticed that equal hp stang and LS1 the LS1 will likely win.

LOL MY BAD STOPSIGN...know all king of mustangs (but only his is FAST, ALL the others are SLOW!!!)
like screaminredz said, yes it depends on the stang. obviously talking of the lighter ones which are under 3100 lbs...and a fbody is close to 3500 lbs. oh my bad, only 400lbs

Not a ls1 owner but.... I own a 92 notchback foxbody just so you guys know (even though this thread is 2 years old) a lx notchback 5.0 wieghs 2900lbs.... Stripped there is guys running street cars wieghing 2600lbs some wieghing 2750 with them in it. So Yes a foxbody can wiegh a good 800lbs less than a f-body. My car itself is a 92 notchback 4cyl with a 5.0 swap and 89 steering column (no air bag) and a good amount of wieght reduction and the car was scaled in at 2750 without me. Theres drag cars NO TUBING that wiegh 2400lbs.

Maybe they wanted you to pull out the 2k so they could beat the hell out of you and take the cash lol.
I will be weighing my 93 notchback soon, weld draglites, no rear seat, no carpet in the trunk, ls1 and 56 with tubular kmember and trans crossmember. No power windows or locks or mirrors, has sn85 seats which weigh about 15 lbs a pc. Hoping for 2800 without me.

Idk what foxbody's youve wieghed but i assure you a notchback is a pretty damn light car..... But i know my motor right now if i had a s/c id be in the 500-600hp range. Let alone i could do a 351w s/ced and be making 700-800hp with ease
