Um.... No a gt wieghs 3300lbs without driver a notch 5.0 wieghs 2900lbs full tank all liquids. Assuming youve never looked at the door jam my nieghbor has a 91 gt door jam reads 4100 gvwr mine says 3750.... Thats full wiegh of the car with 4 200lbs passengers. Meaning the hatch is a good 300lbs heavier , look at the shipping wieghts as well the gt is 300-400lbs heavier deciding on trim. You should probably read up on your foxbody info before saying its only 80lbs difference lol the rear hatch wieghs that alone.

Right. Your post is laughable. Door jam plates for actual weight? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please explain to me where an extra 300 pounds of weight comes from if both cars are equipped the same and from the same year? Notchbacks being hundreds of pounds lighter than a GT is an urban myth. Even the heaviest year GT(91-92) vs a light 87 coupe 5.0 with same factory options. Older 5.0s were lighter than the 91 and up due to 15 inch rims,no MAF,no air bags etc...

I weighed my LX,a GT and a notch back in 1993 on the same scale. All 5 speed hardtops and 92 cars. My LX was 30 pound heavier than the notch. GT was 75 pounds heavier than the notch. Keep in mind LX hatch came with the same seats as the GT-notch for some reason had 4 banger seats in it(was swapped I believe). All cars equipped with power package, cloth and floor mats.

I don't need to google about Mustang 5.0s. Been racing/building/driving them since 1992. Notice new car sticker on picture below.

Blowers weigh 30 to 40 including brackets... Your math suggests they weigh 200 to 300... Not so much

Mike is correct. The reason the gvw is higher on a gt is it has stiffer shocks and springs so it can hold more total weight... The gt is 100 lbs tops heavier that a coupe stock for stock.. A stock coupe is about 3150 where a lx hatch is bout 3200 and gt with leather 3250ish...

I've had every fox mustang style made and have weighed em personally. The coupe wasn't that much lighter than any of my gts or even my saleen.

Gvwr is with 4 passengers wieghing 200lbs, urban myth? Come one man me and you both know a notch is lighter by far. So you mean on all the mustang forums lie about wieghts and specs.... My car it self is a 92 4cyl with a 85 gt motor in it, door crash beams removed bumper beams removed 89 steering column which means tilt steering no airbags, all cruise control removed , no airbag equipment no spare tire no jack.

BUT back to the point. The hatch itself has more bracing in the rear, the hatch glass is bigger, the hatch itself has more metal , the rear windows are bigger , THE GT bumpers alone are a good bit heavier , side skirts, fog light and the bracing .

A stock LS1 99 FRC is not going to "rape" a 330rwhp Fox. Infact it wont even beat it.

Notch is not 300 pounds lighter in stock form compared to the others. PERIOD. A hatch is maybe 30 pounds heavier in stock form. Your hacked 4 banger car is not a good example. 4 bangers had lighter seats, brakes and smaller tank...

A blower and associated BS and piping and IC will easily tack 100 pounds onto the car's weight, too. Sure the head unit might weigh 30 or 40, but you arent accounting for a gallon+ of coolant, a pump, hose, a reservior, and an inter/aftercooler.
