So what you are saying if I read your post correctly is that SOHC 427 Fords are junk, Hemi's are junk, the Thunderbolt was a POS and a Cuda is an ugly car. Hmmmm. I sense an idiot. All the US car companies have built incredible cars at one time or another. I can appreciate any car. Someday when you grow up and have a fully functional brain you'll understand that as well.

NASCAR banned it so it went into a few dragsters. There are a few stuffed in cars now mostly old Fairlanes and Galaxies, they were never put in a factory car. Oh yea the cam chain was 6 feet long.

^ Google it and get some history on it. Its a pretty bad *** motor. Worth more than a lot of cars these day too.

EDIT: Manalishi provided a good link for it.

I thought the 427 mod motor (cammer) was ONLY produced for Nascar.
As far as I know, there weren't any production cars with it... (correct me if I'm wrong).
It's basically a race motor and it's too bad it didn't go into a production car
Here's an in depth article about it:http://www.supermotors.net/articles/...sue01-a2-1.php

I think, if we were comparing race motors, I would prefer a LS7R. Roughly the same amount of power, but the "cammer" kind of weighs 765 lbs

EDIT: Just noticed Manalishi's post.

bigger cam in a foxbody 302 with stock heads = fail

I had a foxbody 302 with the holley systemax performance kit which rolled out nicely. But the T5 didn't last too long it started to whine really bad in 2nd and 3rd gear and was due for a rebuild. (at least a rebuild)

But a 302 with stocks heads isn't going to do much with an aftermarket cam.

Thos E7s are that weak huh? How are the gt40x heads? My friend has them on his 5.0 GT, along with a TFS stage two blower cam. The car HAD a NOVI 1000 on it, but the old owner didn't tune it for ****. He took the blower off, adjusted timing, and its much faster then with the untuned blower on. Cam sounds real nice too.

Everything else...intake upper and lower, cam.....is TFS, and he wants TFS heads. He bought the car like this, and is having to fix all the stupid **** the old owner did to it, biggest thing is the tune.

What it's faster without the blower lol......Why not keep the blower and get it tuned correctly?

At the time it was $$$$ (dude, that is what I told him lol. Trust me, I want that thing with the novi on, and running right), but now that he is at the BP academy, he wants to build a N/A motor, possibly 331 or 347 stroker, but not sure. I think he is coming down this weekend, so I'll ask him.

The Cammer is a side oiler lol. Really though, all the 427's were bad ***.

And the cammer did see limited production in Galaxies. That had more to do with the NHRA though. IIRC.

Understandable, i had to sell my turbo kit off my stang cause of the $$$$ problem lol. And i sold the damn SC that i had to buy the turbo for it so i'm back to nitrous an N/A for now. It would run good with that novi, i had a shitty powerdyne maxed out at 8-10psi when i dynoed i was at 425rwhp with a blown headgasket. Changed gaskets threw a methonal kit on it and upped the timing alittle i was around 450rwhp.
