There was a 20 page thread on the 370z vs Camaro ss so me and these guys have bashed before.
You were level headed and doing just fine, then you sorta lost it. I don't see how that thread is a good example of anything. On either side.
*shrug*
WRXs and 3xxz are great cars for what they are made for. But they aren't 1/4 mile cars by any means. Not stock anyhow.
I remember when I first got my GT. My wife's friend's boyfriend (douchebag) with a stock 05 WRX told me he was going "rape" (I don't get those connotations... ) my little rustang. HE not only had a turbo, but a intercooler he said. And claimed he hadn't been beaten by a Mustang yet. I have a feeling since 9 out of 10 Mustangs around here are v6s, I am guessing that's what he had been "racing" When I finally agreed to race him, I beat him badly. 3 times. He accused me of lying about my car being stock, and told my wife that she married a liar. I showed him my engine bay and all. Nothing was modded. Still had the paper filter. He then claimed something must be wrong with his WRX.. he was going to take it to the shop, and get back with me next week. After months of me hounding him about racing again, he never would. The gal eventually dumped him for other non-related douchebaggery.

I'm beginning to believe that Z's suck at everything. Hard to break 12's with bolt ons, unless you have an 07+, if you do hit 12's you realise you just spent almost 5k, parts are ridiculously expensive.
Unless you have a 370z you need to build the block and add twin pumps to be competitive. After that 20k you have one hell of a car.
The 06+ models are impossible to find with brembos, bbk cost 2k, and good coilovers cost 1500+ so handling is expensive, then there still is the lack of of power.
I love mine to death though. I'm not sure on the weight though. I weigh 3339.

The only really thing that matters is you enjoy what you drive. 95% of the time MOST of us aren't going above 70mph anyhow.
I'd have to spend 5k plus to get into the 12s too. LSx engine cars are just easier to mod for cheaper. But if you don't want a fbody, or an LSx car, regardless how how fast they can go, you wont be happy.

Zs are great track cars. I'd love to have one myself to take in the back roads. Every Z I see going down the street I drool at. I am NOT a Z hater. It's just stock, the 350 isn't all that hot in the 1/4. Not that my GT is all that either..

I am just glad we can discuss these things without having to call each other names like "sperm gurgling **** muscle" or some other vulgar hilariousness.
I enjoy all fast cars. When I say that, I mean ANY car that is faster than the average car. Yes, that even means 14 second cars.
I just hope when everyone wakes up, they read all the posts before they knee-jerk on just one.

not in the market for making friends, i'm just defending the old suby. And he's getting less then 200 on a dyno then he needs to try again because there is no way that car is losing 50+ out of the drive tran.
And when i said they are the fastest i was referring to all trims: WRX, WRX STI, and WRX STI S-series. they may not have top speed but 80mph arround a corner to me is somewhat record breaking. ha today you either have to get a $50K corvette or a $24K camero to beat the little old WRK's 0-60. and even so what do you have; a heavy *** 2 door coupe that can barely hold 2 people and can go through a set of tires in a week. for the same money, you can sacrafice half a second, get four doors, 25mpg, and one of the best engine/drive tran/warranty/resale value money can buy. Personally i'm a fan of any ls1 or ls2 thats older then 71';the 80's and 90's wannabe crap just doesn't do it for me. hell an 82' corvette could barely get 200hp (yeah i know, L82 but you get my point)
and if you pit this awd beast on a tarmac, corner for corner it will win. cameros are fast but have terrible under steer.
now that my peace is made i am discontinuing my membership from the forum. why cant we all just get along?

Well this thread went straight to hell.
Nobody can say anything about a WRX or Nissan Z without someone coming in with all kinds of examples of how "fast and awesome" they are. We get it - you can dump money into ANY car and make it fast. Whether its a Lebaron turbo or a Porsche 911, anything can be upgraded.
What Z33Option doesn't seem to understand is that nobody cares. When we talk about the general performance of a car, such as the WRX, we aren't talking about some ricer who spent $30,000 to get a race prepped fully forged engine with every upgrade imagineable. We're talking about the typical car you might run into on the street, which is usually stock or maybe has a few bolt ons. And in general, WRX's are slow as ****. They put down waaaay under 200HP to the wheels stock, and they don't even do all that well with upgrades. Their transmissions are also junk and tend to explode when driven aggressively. Even an STI isn't fast IMO, I walked my friends STI like he was going backwards, and I just have bolt ons. The car pulls nicely in 1st through 3rd, but after that its just got nothing.

i'm surprised that after 5 months my thread was brought back from the dead with useless crying and bickering about the cute little 4 bangers on which is better stock vs. stock bla.. bla.. bla... we all know between 1993-2002 or what ever years it was that ford had to put a blower on their 4.6L to beat the all motor LT1,4 & LS1,2,6,7... stock vs. stock off the show room floor of course because you know anyone can modify almost any car and beat something that is stock.

When i first got my GXP i did a run against a wrx sti with a fart can and a tune. he pulled about half a car max on me each time we from 60km to 120 km and after that i pulled right along side of him which he didnt seem impressed until i mentioned mine was stock which then pissed him off. He musta had a agressive tune cause everytime he shifted gears black smoke came out the back end..then around 125 white smoke..followed by blue...lmao

a couple of my buddies in plaquemine has a 520awhp evo mr....and the other has a 480 or 490ish hp wrx sti and i must admit they are very quick.. theres not many people around here beating him except a few 700+hp guys lol.. im not a huge fan of the cars but they are def quick when a few things are done to them
