Is it just me or does the little hatchback in the video look like the slow fat kid chasing after his friends?

its not a hatch back. Its a 92-93 (cant remember what year) 4 door civic with a built K20 swap in it.....that car went 12.5 @ 109 how it sits in that video....full weight with full interior.

The car that was video taping was a brand new 2 door BMW (forgot what series)...heres a pic of it...

That is a gorgeous SS. Exactly what I want. 4.10's would help.

I cant wait for 4.10's to really wake it up.

stock pulley is 3.65. a a 2.8/2.81/2.76 are roughly 14 lb pullies depending on other mods. a 12 lb pulley would be a 2.90 or a 2.93.
Porting the blower allows for cooler inlet temps and a more efficient charge. which allows you to run more timing with out worry of detonation. more timing is more power.

for the o.p good run get some 4:10s and get after it again. oh and you may wanna tell your buddy that running that cobra up to 150 is a bad idea. i tend to think he might be upset if he melts a piston or two.

Ok well I said that is what I believe....I didn't keep it very long because IMO was a pile of crap. NOT COBRAS in general. Just the specific car that I had. It was in the shop more than on the road.

why would he melt a piston or two??

its weird you say that...he was changing his plugs yesterday and the last cylinder on the passenger side, the plug was completly melted and white...while all the others were brown...hes doing a compression test as we speak right now....why is this??

Those Eaton blowers with the water/air/water intercoolers are marginal at best for those systems. They run hot to begin with. Anything that would cause the car to run lean, the intercooler not being efficient, or low octane at that engine/blower rotor speed would cause excessive heat, detonation, or melted pistons. If any of these is the case, he was lucky to just get away with a melted plug.
That would just be my guess not seeing the engine run.

as im sure you know the 03/04 cobra bottom ends are very stout from the factory. however they do have flaws. the main one being poor coolant circulation in the driver side head mainly on the rear 2 cylinders(fix is a cooling mod that re routes the coolant to the passenger side head for better flow). the other being an extreamly close piston to wall clearence from the factory. on high end runs the coolant tends to pocket in the rear cylinders causing excessive heat. the heat causes the piston to expand and melts the pistons and normally destroys the block. basicly the 03/04 cobras do not like to be boosted in 5th or 6th. you can let it eat all day in 1-4th tho. have your buddy do a search on blown motors on SVTP and there will be a lot more info on the subject this is just a brief explanation.

Damn weak *** Ford motors. LOL!!! Just kidding man. Its a simple design flaw which every engine ever built has. The LSx included.

I am not doubting you at all, but your outcome is not the norm. heres what my brothers pullied cobra (465rwhp) did to me (I make 450) and a cam only FRC that trapped 117 the same day of the vid.

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/P...FRC_196298.htm

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/p...ls1_188604.htm

this same cobra has beaten a h/c ss with a ms4 and ported ls6 heads as well.

Again I am not doubting your car it obviously runs very well, and I don't want this to turn into a 10 page argument. we both have posted the basis for our opinions and thats it.

he has the coolant mod on his car...that was one of the first things he did before he even pullied it.

it also has a larger heat exchanger and a aftermarket radiator thats huge.

say what you want, but heres my other buddys 03 cobra that put down 465rwhp and also trapped 117 running my car....this was a 65 roll. I was in 2nd, he was in 3rd...we shut down at 150 and as you can hardly see in the video, my front end was at his tail lights...from 65-120 he was playing catchup with me

its good that hes got all that stuff but that doesnt change the piston to wall clearence. if he wants to run the car like that tell him to put a piston in the car and ditch the shitty eaton. untill then he is playing with fire.

a lot of that comes down to the driver. when my car was at 465/485 with just an upper pulley it trapped 124 a few times and was consistantly at 122-123.

But according to stigemeier(the one who ports them) it doesnt raise the boost.
it decreases boost because there is less restriction, that is all boost is a measure of.
