Default I finally got race someone, a cammed and other goodies GT Mustang

Well I finally got to race someone which was my buddy's cammed,p&p heads, all the supporting goodies, he even has 3.73 gears and dyno tune. Well my car has only boltons, with the stock rear and gears with a mail order tune from the "MAN" FROST. His car is a 2002 GT manual, and mine is a 1998 Z28 M6. It all started by him talking **** at work saying for me to do all the stuff since we all knew that I had the slowest car. I never did say much just figured I'd let my car do the talking. He's always telling how he beats cammed ls1's and many other BS stories. Anyways the first race was from a 40 roll I started in 2ND were even thru that gear after that it was all over about **** I don't even know how many car lengths. After that he said he wanted to run from a dig because he said he sucks from a roll so we did and I revved the egine to about 1500rpm and launched it worse from the dig, I mean I just completely ate his lunch after that he didn't have much to say except DAMN you got me, I could tell he was upset. This is a great day for me.

I hope a H/C/I 2v would make north of 350 hp myself...for how much all that **** is for a mod motor.

Nice kill.

My 2 cents? He was BSing about his mods, he was a really crappy driver, or both. A packaged, geared 2V is a mid 12 car, pending gearing, tune, etc.

Modulars, especially 2v aren't too impressive na. The most anyone has made is in the 430s(rwhp) and that was a race car. I'm waiting to see how the new Trick Flow heads turn out. Supposedly ported they'll flow 300.

When I was na at 10:1 compression I only made 325rwhp na but luckily 540/650 on the gas, lol.

This article is a good example of the potential these two-valves have naturally-aspirated.....which apparently, isn't too much. But on the flip side, it's respectable for only 281-inches.

It's just like a pushrod in that the entire package has to 'match'. If not, you wouldn't get squat.

I do agree that he would have spent the same $$ and ended up ahead iwth a blower though. LOL

trevors cam only gt made 300...and ran 12.1

and its fairly easy to make 350 with the right setup. "acmiller" (builds motors) on another forum has a "recipe" for 350 n/a

This guy here in El Paso, TX is running mid to low 13's which in turn is easily 12's in the sea level area.

I don't know about fairly easy. I can't say I've actually came across someone on stang forums who has actually made 350rwhp in a street car.

Yeah exactly 2v modded suck, my cousins is a vt engines motor stage 2 stroked to a 302 with a p-51 intake etc. etc. and they claimed only 330-350hp to the wheels sucks if you ask me for all the money spent. And like said most made from an N/A 2v was in range of low 400s (although i've only ever seen about 350-360's to the wheels being the most) on a built race motor. I have yet to run into anyone on stang forums also that made 350rwhp in a street car also. I have never seen one running around town either i think they are like unicorn's they are said to exsist but no ones actually seen one LOL.

Good kill! I like the idea of a fast n/a 2V GT, but in reality it's just better to go the power adder route and actually have a chance at making real power on more than just paper.
