Default LT1 vs 300C SRT

alright so i was driving home from work cruising at about 50 in a 45. i pull up to a light in the left hand lane with a van in the right hand lane. Out of nowhere i see this 300 come flying up through traffic to get behind me instead of the van next to me. It was a young guy probably like 18-20 years old and his buddy in the passenger seat. the light turns green and i give it a little throttle with him staying right behind. He then immediately changes to the right hand lane and punches it when clear of the van. He was even with me after flooring it and by the time i let off around 90mph i was roughly a car length ahead, with him flying by me at about 100 I followed him and pulled up next to him at a light where i was turning left and he was going straight. I noticed the car had no markings of a SRT and asked him. He said he debadged it to surprise people and that all he had done to it was a K&N CAI. i wish i could have raced him from a dig, i know that LT1 torque of mine would have destroyed his 4200+passengers boat. All in all i was happy with my car's performance as i had gotten destroyed by a modded 300 SRT in the past in a race from 50-110ish

i hate to question your story but just to make sure i got it right. you were able to stop the pull of this SRT while it was already WOT when it got to you and put a length on it by 90. stranger things have happened. chalk it up as a W.

I hope everybody knows, that on the 300s at least, they come with a SRT-DESIGN package. Looks exactly like the SRT8 but is not and has the 5.7L.

Probably why he debadged it.

Could have been an 300 SRT-"""DESIGN""".

what i meant to say is that i heard him go WOT around a car length behind me and by the time i was at WOT he was even with me.

and i dont know anything about the SRT "design" but i feel like i would have done much better against a ~4700 with gas and passengers car with only 340 horse, when my car weighs around 3500 or so with me and the amount of gas in the tank at the time.

FYI, my brother's 06 300c SRT-8 put down over 400rwhp/rwtq with just a programmer and cutouts. My buddy's hot-cammed LT1 did not come close to it. It was not an SRT-8 you raced. Still a W

i just looked up this SRT "design" 300c and i guess it bumps the horsepower up to 350 because of better flowing exhaust and such, and with the intake he would be around 360 and around 310-320 to the wheel so i guess that could have been the car i raced, but now im not as happy with the result hahaha

Debadging an SRT-8 is like hilarious. The Brembos and front spoiler on the 300C are dead giveaways. Nice win regardless.

I don't think the SRT design 300's have the same front and rear bumper as the real 300 SRT bumper. The wheels aren't exactly the same either. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure of this.

I had a kid here tell me I need to get rid of my LS2 and get the 6.1, he is in a 300. Now i saw the car turn in front of me and knew it was a V6... He was trying to sell it BTW. I told him sure, when he gets a 6.1 in it. All his friends in the car died laughing and told him BURN!!! People will always try to BS you... Still hurt his feelings after he picked the fight.

I think they do, at least the 300C SRT-Design that always tries to park next to me on base has the SRT8 rear and front bumpers, I'll have to check it out.

OP, sounds like you raced a guy who claimed to have an SRT8. Good kill regardless.

I just looked on google right now and the 300 SRT "design" doesn't have the actual SRT8 front bumper or the rims. There was a rear pic so I don't know about the rear bumper.

300C S Pkg.

This package contains the following features:

Engines
- HEMI?, as in hemispheric combustion chambers, and the legendary engine of Daytona Beach. This engine generates up to 340 horsepower at 5,000 RPM, and 390 pounds-feet of torque at 4,000 RPM. So when the semi's are only a distant memory behind you, MDS means up to 11 percent improvement in fuel economy.* The original HEMI beams with pride. HEMI is a registered trademark of Chrysler Motors LLC. *15 city/23 highway EPA estimated miles per gallon with MDS. Results depend on driving habits and conditions.

Transmissions
- The high-performance W5A580 5-speed transmission provides an exceptionally smooth ride and shifting, while reducing fuel consumption.

Convenience/Security Options
- Supplemental side curtain air bags** that are designed to extend protection to both the front and rear outboard passengers, and which have impact sensors that autonomously trigger the air bag on the side where the impact occurs **Always use seat belts. The SRT8 will have a spoiler. Also look for the Brembos. Guys usually don't add them if they clone it.
