CTS-V vs Evo 9 (video)
#21
My EVO 8 w/ similar mods went 12.59@109 (good air night). I know this is not a ton of mph but the 4crapper really holds it's own if you don't venture out of it's comfort zone. I don't race hi mph. Unless an f-bod is sportin' stickies a dig is all catchup for them.

Nice races but that trash talking was gay.
I always wondered how my car would do against an Evo from a dig but I haven't met anyone who knows how to launch them. Obviously up top it wouldn't be good for it but I bet the first two gears or so would be decent.

The V is NOT know for being a good car from the dig to begin with, and ive only had it for 3 month so i still screw sometimes up like i did in the video.
Im sure you will do better, my LT1 camaro was better from a dig then this car, but I have a cam going in this saterday so there will be a rematch video soon

Wheel hop is completely avoidable,...for those of us that have never driven a V in,..a hostile environment. Be it as simple as a rear tire change, or as extreme as diff/suspension swaps..bushing swaps...bars and brakcets,...either those,...or a good ol fashioned aware driver that knows when to lift and or pedal the throttle.
Very avoidable however,...not everyone knows when to lift. Or sometimes, **** just is gonna happen one way or the other with aluminum cased differentials and torque.

I love the V8 purr from the Caddy at the end of the 1st race. I tried to get my dad into one of those but he picked a DTS instead because of all the room for his group's golfbags in the trunk.
BTW...That M3 got waxed at the end there. That Evo IX is actually pretty quick for that amount of mods.

Stock block and drivetrain, he made it 3 years before he sold it and it never broke. Maybe 25-35 passes

The cures are different for the different years and there is NO sure fire 100% cure except lifting when the hop starts... =U LOST. When you toss a cam into the recipe now you have moved the launch rpm up and also your chance for wheelhop.
Been there.... seen that movie circa 2004.

LOL. Theoretically you're right.... but when you toss the adrenaline (and the fact you are losing) into your ideal launch on a slimy street.... Like I said BANG!
