Well I am so glad I stayed at the gym for cardio (trust me I need it LOL). After about 4 miles of driving and a couple of spirited launches from the light my car is up to temp and the tires are hooking !!!! Now is where the fun starts. I pull up to the light (cutouts closed you know I'm hunting) and out of the corner of my eye I see the new ZR1 !!! He pulls up next to me and I look over and nod, he nods and smirks. We roll out easy and catch the next light together (long light 2 minutes). I lower my window and I ask him if he wants to have a fun run to the next light and he starts laughing. I said what's so funny? And he replied are you serious, this is a ZR1 !! I opened the cutouts (even though it only gains .25 rwhp and .11 rwtq at peak LOL) and I said yes I am serious, are you ?!?! He puts his window back up and throws me a couple revs. I return the favor and he's not laughing anymore. The light goes green and I come out of the hole at about 3500 or so and I am being very careful not to light em up and lose this oppurtunity. To my surprise I have pulled a couple cars on him and am maintaining, if not slightly adding to my lead. At any rate we meet at the next light and he yells over WTF do you have under the hood ?? I told him a h/c full bolt on 402 tuned by Vengeance Racing and he just said HOLY **** !!! I asked if he wanted to run again and he was game but we kept running into traffic as we were attempting to set up another light to light and he didn't want to run on the expressway. Cool guy, hope to give him a rematch. Best comment of the night was, my tires were cold and had you not got the hole shot it would've been different. Oh well, I've lost a few due to cold tires, I guess I got lucky on this one. Too bad he wouldn't hit the expressway, that would've been fun !!

Would've really liked to have ran again after his tires had a little heat in them. I'd like to think I'd still have had him by 1/2 car on a light to light. The expressway is where I really wanted to run though, but he wasn't having it.

1 7/8 American Racing Headers, DMH cutouts (more so for the Nascar sound because they only picked up .25 rwhp and .11 rwtq) and the LGM Big 3 catback. The combination works well. BTW, this car has seen 201 mph so far, and she was pulling too. Just need a few more RPMS on the rev limiter to see how far past 200 I can go. Would be useful against a ZR1 on the highway doing top speed run.

Seriously, there was some time and thought put into this cam. The specs are as follows: 239/243 .623/.623 113+3
Works very well in comparison to the popular G6X3. Actually made 2 more rwhp, and only gave up 2 rwtq. With that being said drivability, and reliability were greatly improved too. Less aggressive LSL lobes on my current cam vs the more aggressiver lsk used on the g6x3. Very quiet/happy sounding valvetrain too.

your ride sounds like a beast. i have a feeling, 1/4 wise, you would beat him everytime. those things run right with a standard c6 z06 in the 1/4. not saying they are slow by any means, but they really come alive at 130+. i would have loved to see how things would have went down on the highway! awesome kill!

I too would've like to have hit the expressway. I've been to 200 and it was so smooth. Too bad I would've run out of RPMS (6800 rpms / 5th gear, 6th not usuable)

Thanks everyone !! Lets give the zr1 the respect it deserves though. You must remember I had warm/hot DR's with lowered air pressure to get more bite, and we all know Nittos hook on the street pretty good, he had stock tires, and were cold I'm assuming. Why else would he just sit and spin unless he had absolutely not control of the throttle. (Much like me a couple years ago LOL)
I'll have to see if I can set something up with him for an expressway run. If I leave the nittos on we'll have to keep the speeds to 145 or less. I've been over 150 a couple times on DRs and it didn't feel safe at all. Now just keep your fingers crossed that I run into him again. Thanks for all the support.
On a side note, why does everyone that voted the zr1 would've won round 2 think that? He's only got me by a few rwhp and he weighs more? Just thought I'd ask.

Great run Doug I cant believe you still didnt post any vids of your car.
ZR1 Have a very very sick mid range power also his gear ratio is a lot better than yours.
in the freeway I say ZR1 Will win by 2-3 cars from 50-160
from a dig its a driver + traction race since both cars have power that can run 130mph at 1/4.
Just race Jorday's ZR1 and get it on vid and we all know he can drive.
ZR1 Have a very very sick mid range power also his gear ratio is a lot better than yours.

You are right about the 50-160, thats why I wouldn't take that race. LOL, 145 max, because I will have to shift and he'll just blow by me due to staying in 4th.
On the video question, I am very sorry to disappoint. I used to have many people willing to ride with me before I jumped up to the 402. Now that I am making some legitimate power, with true 200 mph potential (and then some, just need to bump the rev limit so 5th can scream) no one seems to want to go for a ride anymore. At least not on the eway LOL. My boy at work always says TopSide only Doug. Tech member cgillies86 is a good friend of mine and he's willing to go but due to our work schedules its a crap shoot on trying to meet up to get some video. We didn't even make to Cedar Point yet. Too much overtime and when I'm not working I have been busy. Personal training, and just keeping up with the house.
When I hit Milan, Fadi has made the generous offer to go and video the car for me. Stay tuned.
