Default Me vs 09 R6

UPDATE: Here is the vid:
http://s59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...t=101_0197.flv

Well I went out sat night to the normal meeting spot. There were a couple cars out there, but everyone was just talking. I was there for prob an hour and nothing has happened yet. So I tell a few friends lets just get in the car and leave. On my way getting into my car I just yell out where to go lol. Well a few people follow.

While there I was itching for a run, but all that was there was some Riced out Honduh's. Until a guy on a bike shows up. I go ahead and tell my brother if it's a 600 I want some. We go check it out and its a brand new R6 with a guy my size on it (135lb) . I wanted to run so I asked for a 60 roll (nice 2nd gear) and should have been perfect for him in 1st. Not for sure what mods he had, I'm sure a slip on and filter prob .

Anyways were rolling about 60 prob a lil lower, when we nail it. I yanked him pretty hard right off the get go. I hit 3rd and he pulled back on me a tad, but once I was in the middle of 3rd I started pulling hard, I hit 4th and pulled on him nicely. Not for sure how fast we were going or how many car(s) I put on him as I was watching the road at those speeds.

Anyways, it was the most fun I've ever had in my car. Oh and my first bike kill. Not for sure how the new R6's run but this thing was pretty damn fast.

What the hell is done to your car? Those things trap low 130s with a mediocre driver from what I'm seeing.

Starting from 60mph will make a big difference. I ran a gsxr 750 from a 60mph roll and stayed right next to him but on the track he destroyed me.

I understand that bikes move out from a dig, but they still trap 130+ mph, which means they haul *** on the highway.

And what's done to your Porsche? What year and model is it?

I'm cam only 347 with forged pistons and rods with stock crank. No up in compression just a nice rebuild pretty much. I have a PredZ custom specd cam, 230/236 and I was on a 100 wet shot. My brother has a video of the race, but it hasn't been uploaded or anything. Still needs to be tuned for na and on the bottle, right now it has an open header tune it.

Something's up with that bike. Did the guy know how to ride? My buddy has almost that same setup on a stock LS1 (VERY similar cam and a 100 shot) and he traps 124. 6+ mph even from a weak spot in the bike shouldn't be much of a race unless the guy doesn't really know what he's doing.

He's usually out racing it on Thursday nights which is when the street racing for bikes happen. Well Hopefully I can get the vid up, I just tried to upload it from my phone. My brother recorded about 3 or 4 sec on his phone and you can only see the start pretty much. It was definitely fun as hell.

600's don't trap 130+.

Nice kill. I am not a fan of the R6's by any means.

Their mph seems a lil higher than usual. I usually see close to 130 on the newer bikes for average riders. Although if your lightweight they can definitely add a few more mph to it.

Its funny how 600s are supposed to be that fast lately in this section and are not because of the rider...

Good kill OP, 600 are slow.

Just because a driver sucks ***** doesn't mean the bike is slow. I wouldn't say mid 130s is slow by any stretch of the imagination, and they clearly did it in that magazine article. I know we've all seen a million drivers run a solid second or more slower than a decent driver should run in various cars, nevermind compared to a good driver. It doesn't mean that all of those cars are slow, just that the driver sucks. Hell, I've beaten dozens of cars that shouldn't even have been a race because the driver sucked so bad, but I wouldn't go saying that those cars are slow. And I only trap 117.

That said, I understand compared to 750s and 1000s and Hyabusas 600s are much slower, but I stand by the statement that mid 130s is NOT slow by any stretch. How many out there would call a KB Cobra slow?

you also have to figure that all magazine times are corrected for DA by car standards, and Density Altitude takes more affect with the more air youre pushing.. thus meaning that a 600cc bike isnt going to be affected as much as a v8 car because of the displacement.

I'm not saying 130 is slow, 130 trap is very fast!! I'm just saying that they are supposed to be fast, but lately they look slow in this section. I wish I had a friend with good driving skill to see what theyre really capable of.
Its always the same story; driver excuses.

I didnt ride a bike but I had a modded RM250 and its not the end of the world to shift in the right powerband on a bike!! I guess there is many POS driving bikes.

Plus, I'm sure a kenne bell Cobra wouldnt have any problems walking me N/A with an average driver, I hope!

Thank you! I've personally never seen a stock 6 in the 130 range.

They slow down alot over 100mph compared to 0-100.
03 Turbo, these are the only power mods intake, exhaust, tune. It has short throw, springs, brakes, and wheels.

The thing is bikes are stupid hard to launch. I have seen 600's trap as little as 110 and as high as 128. 134 like in that link is close to what most 1000's trap up here. Indy kid nice car is it just a reflash, if so who did it? I love 996 turbos.

if youre not a squid, you can cut low 1.90's easily.. i do all day long on a bike with no power.. ive seen a stock ZX14 cut 1.60's.. its all in rider skill, which alot of riders dont have.

and i agree with indykid.. ive low 120's in crappy da.. an 09 R1 was trapping damn near 139 at speedworld in 4500 da last weekend.

Indy, is that really all? i thought there were a few more things going in soon

Well guys this Thursday I will be going back out to that spot on my bike to talk to him. Hell I may race him on my FZ1. My FZ ran a 10.0 @ 135 maybe I can get him to race my bike to see what the outcome looks like compared to it. From what I've seen on the R6 forum most of the new R6's are running 130" traps, even with a crappy rider . 600's sure have gotten a lot faster in the past couple years.
