but obviously thats just speculation
the 350z should be about 800lbs lighter though.

That GTO just runs really really hard. It really shouldent even be able to keep up with that 350z.

My car was on the scales at the drag strip before I took anything out and it was 3625. I've since pulled out maybe 100lbs, if that.

I try not to get too caught up in the details, all the minute numbers will make your head explode.

I just line it up and see what happens.

Thats actually really light for a GTO. Both of my buddies gtos weighed in at like 3850-3900lbs at NED.

Yeah snyper says his car is prob about 3100lbs so figure like a 500lb difference in weight. He also said he ran a procharged Mach 1 that ran 11.40s at 119 and was pretty much dead nuts even with him. I think his car will prob run a little better than that, he should be able to trap 120+, we'l see though he said he was headed to the track today. I'm deff interested to see what she'll run.

I agree man but when I was down in FL.. and street racing was everywhere and money was on the line.. knowing the minute details really helps give you a better idea of how things will turn out. Although driver is a much bigger thing than a lot of people give credit for. my first time at the track I ran 12.5 at 112 and then 2 weeks later ran the times in my sig with very little difference in the car other than different tires, re routing of my intake for cooler air, and a tune

Who knows man, I just know what my car weighs, how much power it makes, and what it runs. I can't really compare my car to another GTO because it's mine and for the most part they're all different.

Chevy does seem to make factory freaks.

Some ls motors just seem to put down much better numbers than other ls motors from the same year

This is true, a friend of mine works at Eastside in Wallingford and has told me many times how different even bone stock dyno's can be. Nevermind when you start throwing mods into the equation.

He's said LS1's on his dyno have put down anywhere from 280-330 all stock.

any Ls2 with headers and decent tune will run good.

Whats the weight of your GTO without a driver was it 3600 with you in it ??

what exactly did you take out, I wonder if I could put my V on a diet?

It was 3625 on the scales before I took anything out. I obviously took out the spare/jack, the skid plate, and a rear tow brace. Also, with the addition of headers there was a wieght savings there as well. I'm guessing around 100lbs total.

Definately nothing major. The difference between our cars is your tune, and how heavy your car is. Once you get headers and a GOOD tune, you'll be making more power than me. Enough to overcome the weight? We'll see
