M5 and a Terminator go down!
After a lame Summer with very little action from anything worth while, I finally ran into some excitement. My first run in was with a '09 M5. The first light I didn't think he was interested so I didn't get into it until I heard him hit it. I had about half a car at 80 before we had to slow for the next light. The second light we both went on green and I managed a car length on the launch and he stayed at my rear bumper to around 100. Cool guy and one badass sedan!!!
The Cobra I saw a couple blocks up and managed to catch up just in time to line up for a light. He threw a couple revs my way so I knew it was game on. We both launched about even, I may have had a couple feet on him. I slowly walked out to a couple car lead before we came up on traffic. He wouldn't pull up next to me after that and turned off. I'd hope he was stock but I didn't get the chance to find out.

500 hp/380 ft/lbs should have been able to easily pull you, so good kill on the M5. And for the inevitable weight argument, those cars weigh in at 4,090 lbs, so take with that what you will.
Good kill on the cobra too.

On the highway, the M5 should have been able to pull the OP easy (look at what their trap speed, I don't know it off the top of my head, but I can guarantee it's a good bit higher than the OPs).
Cobra from dig was a pretty good race however.

Maybe those are their 1/4 mile times, but that doesn't tell the story of how fast a car is.

Interestingly, the full 500 hp is only available when selected by the driver using the MDrive performance settings. The default setting is 400 hp -- the same output as the previous M5's V8 --

In other words OP, a helluva kill! If he didnt go through the 7 seperate steps to get all 500hp on tap then thats his mistake for racing handicapped! no different that a nitrous car running with his nitrous map installed but nitrous disabled, or a FI car running his race gas map with pump gas in and cant go WOT.

100mph for those cars wouldnt even equate to a 1/4 mile, since theyd both trap well over it. i think it would have stayed very close, even at higher speeds. good kill nonetheless. id love to have a screamin V10 in my car. maybe GM should should make the LS10, 2 more cylinders couldnt hurt
as for the cobra, i can see that happening. off idle torque in those things make for a bitch of a car to launch. my friend had a pullied one that just would not hook on the street so hed get beat all the time from a dig.

I'd expect that had I run the M5 on the highway, I'd have gotten pulled. Stoplight to stoplight, he was pretty much out of his element. The Cobra, I'm fairly certain would have lost anywhere. Of course a few mods and things can change quite a bit. I was just glad to get the chance to run something worth while before the snow flies.
