Wait, are you seriously questioning the fact that I got a 13.9. (read slow) in my 2v? really?

But if I wanted to, I could produce slips saying I did it in 13.1 and you'd not be able to tell the difference. Really.

I think however, you're just being a silly person. That, and I realize your a n00b in here. I'll let it pass.

I know LS4s don't get much respect around here but for what it matters the two LT1s I've raced couldn't hang at all. From a dig or roll. Quite sad actually. I've raced a Vette and a T/A. Usually when I race a Mustang GT they beat up on me a bit. I've beat two Mustang GTs...one at the track and one on the street. My grocery getter is only 14.3X at the track. Just my .02cents

Yep. To make LS1 bolt-on power numbers, an LT1 needs a cam. And to put down LS1 cam-only numbers, an LT1 needs a good H/C combo.

from what ive seen id say it be pretty rare to hit a high 13 in a stock pi gt. my friends 04 runs consistent 14.8s @ 95 with a shitty driver. most i see at the track run low 14s. I did race an 03 gt with 3.73s , upper plenum, intake and exhaust when i had my lt1 with 4.10s ,shorties, intake it was a damn close race. we both ran similar times every run.

I guess...

I don't have the vid to prove it so no point in arguing. I'm sure in ideal conditions with an ideal driver an LT1 would run mid 13s...not the ones I raced...and they were trying really hard.

Yeah, sometimes **** just happens... I ran VERY close to a couple 6spd LT1s in my old '98 GT 5spd when I just had an H-pipe and dumped exhaust. And those cars (the late-'98s with 3.27s instead of 3.08s) typically run ~14.8 stock. Chalk it up to driver error

First time i went to the track my et/trap was 16.7@97. why? because i let off the gas few foot before the 1/4 mark.....i was afraid that the track didn't have enough room for me to stop completely.

Second run i made 14.3@104, here's the interesting part, i ran with a 99-04 GT (mod unknown) he trap 13.9@103 and he BEAT me on that run. we talked and agreed to run on the street, one from a roll and from a dig and both of them i BEAT him by at least 2 cars on each race, he'd hang with me a little from dig and from a roll he didn't even stand a chance.

my point is, for some reasons running on the track and on street is a totally different animal, i know how to drive my car on the street but on the track she'd spinning like we're on the ice skating ring.

Come to moddedmustangs.com. It's not rare at all.

How high are you up there in the clouds? 14.8. is a HORRIBLE score. The 99-04 GT is RATED at 14.0 flat. It's not so hard to believe people getting 13.9s now is it?

Wow! Luck must have really been on your side those races. The non-p.i. cars were slow as dog *****. I still have a vintage article of MM&FF when it took them a half a days track rental to finally muster one down to 14.999 in stock trim. I've never even seen one stock go anything quicker than that. I use to blow those away in my old LT1 sandbaggin' the whole way. lol

Yeah those pre-PI modulars just sucked *****. You can get them for DIRT cheap and put a bigger motor in them. I know someone who did it recently.

The 99-04s aren't that better. At least they can run the 1/4 mile 1 second faster. The problem with these cars have always been the heads. 3rd party companies have shown us what the 2v GT could have done had it had better heads. 330rwhp instead of 238rwhp.

I mean the forums in general Either way, I was just pulling on his chain like he was attempting to pull on mine. I could not care less about who has been on here first. Honestly.

Again, I see more LSx cars doing 14 seconds than I do 13. LOW LOW 14 second cars. I would never say that those cars are 14s cars. Like I gave an example earlier, most people I see with "stock" cars on past time, or on the local track run a ton slower than the car is able to.
Bull ****.. If that is the case the ONLY one you are seeing is a very badly drove 6 speed. I mean HORRIBLY drove 6 speed. Most bone stock A4 ls1s at an average track run mid-high 13s. Hell, I ran low-mid 13s with my 98 stock.
And I certainly would not. Go to an actual mustang board. TIMESLIPPED links show mostly high 13s. I'm just confumbulated that the GT is rated at 14.0 seconds, yet I am being told people running 13.9 is rare. However, you think a Z28, which is rated at about 13.5 can get .5 seconds faster more often than a 2v GT can get .1 faster.
I'm on the "mustang boards" and I'm sure they would agree..
There are PLENTY of 2v GTs getting high 13s stock. Is it the norm? No. Either is mid 13s in a LS1. Most people hit 14s that don't know how to drive. Which is the majority of people.
And most people that don't know how to drive a 2V get 15s......

There you go quoting rare times for the 2V and times with a HORRIBLE driver in a 6 speed.. Get over it man, ls1s run ON AVERAGE run mid 13s.. GTs run low 14s...

If a well driven ls1 is mid 13s, you really think a 2V is only 3 cars behind it? !!!!!!!!!!!!!

But you do know that the LS1 has MORE torque right? The LT1 reaches is highest torque a t a lower RPM so the driver gets the ILLUSION the LT1 is "torquier" when in fact is not.

Very true. Good you pointed this out. A lot of folks have the misconception that LT1's make more torque when they actually don't. LS1's put down more torque at the wheels, it's just that LT1's see their peak number at a mere 2500-rpms.

I watched my friends full bolt on 93 z-28 beat a bone stock 98 A4 vette from a dig race about a year ago.hell i expected to see the vette close the gap up top but he never did.he got him by about 2 maybe 3 cars.....so its not impossible
