Z06 gets raped Here's a vid I found with an 04 STI with a manual boost controller set at 15psi vs a stock Z06.

Firts off I don't think the Z06 launches that well as he
seems not to even rev it for a good launch. However this
could be due to that fact we can't hear it over the 6K launch
of the STi.
Second, at 5800 ft and considering boosted cars are less
affected by altitude than an all motor car, that z06 was really
down on power that high up. What would it run up there like
106mph?
In the third race the Z06 was pulling hard when he passed the
STi, he just shut down early and didn't continue pulling like the 5+ cars he
would have if he stayed into it.
AWD gets you only so far, it takes horsepower to win races, as was seen when
they raced from a roll and took traction out of the equation.

Why do people say all wheel drive hinders there performance on the top end? What about porshe's, skylines, lambo's. You give a car enough hp, anything is possible.

I am not saying that about all AWD cars, I am just saying that
about an AWD STi that traps 102mph, or 100mph if you look at
the new Hot Rod Mag.
What does that STi really put to the
wheels after driveline loss, 230 horse if it is lucky.
My 4cyl sohc shelby charger puts down more than that
and that is using 15 year old technology.

Oh good, another import rice idiot trying to prove that his brand of little-engined cars are so great. If I have more time I would drive around, beat every rice car, dsm car, etc. I encounter, video it, and send it to the www.idrivegayricecars.com forums for the guys to read.

If my eyes are'nt deceiving me the Z06 was'nt racing in the first 2 clips.I don't believe that car would pull that hard on a Z at least not mine.The 3rd clip is more realistic.Looks like the typical ricer move,pull up next to a real sports car break out the camcorder and do a big holeshot.The other driver is going WTF is this kid doing,while the ricer thinks he just killed a real sports car.It has happened to me numerous times while out in my Z06.I just ignore rice unless it's a Supra(respectable Uncle Bens)it's not worth the time and energy.

LOL! Hey we need to set it up again. Remember I didn't have a helmet that night, so the outcome might have been closer. You only ran a mid 12 that night, compared to my 12.9 at 112. We need to get together and set it up one more time.

I watched the vid. No doubt the STi is fast, but it seems the z06 should have kept up better from a dig. Kind of a weird race. WEll, whatever. Good action
