Yeah Yeah Yeah... BLAH BLAH BLAH... We all know the story.... You too have had your *** handed to you by a lil' 4 banger turbo throwaway shitbox.... Neon srt's rock for the coin. The 'balts are closing in on them fast though bang for buck.
90+% of the RWD tuff guys like you won't even line up with me at a light in my EVO (4 cyl.shitbox cost me 10grand) and I've only had one go for it... (he lost) When I put it on the two-step next to them (5500rpm) they just give up.
Just give the poster props for a hard pulling fwd econobox please...lol

Good kill, hugger! It seems like everyone around here is buying up those Cobalts left and right! That's awesome as it's nice to see a GM that actually gets praised by more than just the people who bought them, haha.

Notice how I said LS1 GTO the first time I referenced it. Quit acting like your GTO is fast it traps like 112 and you have money into it, plus its an LS2. Why don't you actually mod the car so you can back up your mouth?
#24
oh good for you leaving on a 2 step in an awd vehicle..you better outrun them to 60 foot cause any decent 4v Cobra or lsx vehicle is gonna suck your doors off if you dont...I aint skeered. I leave the line at the strip @ 5 grand and pull the front tires spinning on drag radials..something you import boys can't do no matter how hard you try...and yes I have had my a*s handed to me by a built all to hell turbo 4cyl lightweight civic...big deal..like I said..its all relative..if I had the same money in my car I'd kill em. Btw..I've got a 1st gen neon with an srt4 swap as a daily driver so I'm not dissing 4cyl. but I don't like it when somebody post 1 video thinking a 4cyl turbo is > than a 4v stang or a lsx fbody.

To date not 1 Cobalt has run me down, still waiting to find one. This includes a 30r swaped SS/SC and a fully bolt on and "infiniboost" SS/TC running 27psi. All the tune only cobalts I've run get left like they're standing still, and my car is no faster than a Ls1 GTO that has a cam.
I'll stick to what I originally said, saying a Cobalt will pound GTO *** dollar for dollar is possibly the most retarded thing EVER.
You know, not to be a dick or anything...

Yes pacesetter headers $350 + free tune = lots of money. My fastest trap to date is 115, and that came with a 12.2 ET.I CALL BS. POST UP THE SLIP. Will we be hearing any more from you??? For 1-2k in an LS1 GTO you can have a solid cam only car in the 11's. Show me a SS/TC Cobalt other than what ZZP (shop car) has in the 11's.

nice write up op and good kill. These little buggers can be fast and definitely suprise people. I will say though im a bit disappointed in the aftermarket drivetrain parts. Really not much when it comes to trannys which I just shattered mine a few weeks ago.

I still think those LNF motors are impressive for what they are!
Going to buy my dad a Stage 2 kit for his 07 Solstice GXP w/ 8k miles for X-mas!
$455 for an increase from 260hp/260tq to 290hp/340tq

-------------------------
2004 GTO with a $2,000 budget -
Pacesetter headers: $267.12 (LMPerformance)
Summit 3" cutout: $29.95 (Summit Racing)
AEM cold air: $269.95 (LMPerformance)
Vindicator cam: $399.99 (Vengeance Racing)
Cam install kit (springs, etc): $469.99 (Vengeance Racing)
Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials: $411.90 (Summit Racing)
Tune: Whatever's leftover since there's no set store price and we can all find cheap tuners
Weight reduction (say ~200 pounds): Free
----------------------------------
That's a high 11-second car with a high 11X trap, possibly quicker with a good driver.
DDS: feel free to post up a $2k build on a turbo Cobalt and we'll compare. I know very little about them so it's very possible you'll eSTOMP my 2004 GTO on the internet. I'm a reasonable guy who's willing to admit defeat if you can show how you'd do it.

I would build the below GTO and ask the person stating otherwise about the Cobalt to write up a similar build sheet with new parts pricing (and sources) and compare what we both think they would run.

Good writeup, didn't think of being civil about it, just felt like stating the obvious that the statement was retarded. That setup is pretty much what I'd to too. It's a shame you put so much effort into finding legit prices and what not, the Cobalt guy was just spewing nonsense and probably won't be heard of for a rebuttle
