Regardless of what people say they run mid to low 12's in street trim. Not everyone is going to hit that number though. That is what people have to understand.

Just like everyone is not going to crack a 12.7 in a 2010 camaro, but there will be those who do. It just takes time...

it seems to convenient that some might even say it could be made up.

Me too but people looking at the IS-F will probably cross-shop other sedans in its class instead. For my money I'd take a used M5 if I needed 4 doors, performance and luxury. Once the new F10 M5 comes out next year used E60 M5's should drop in price too. Still too rich for my blood but not $90k anymore.

True. For that much money, I could get a 335i. Or maybe a nice new G8 GXP.

i think a is-f is a 60k car and it would run all over a 335i. but it would be smart to buy the 335 and spend some money on mods and be rather quick

since when were we talking about e55's, if you raced a non s/c E55 AMG then its more of a 13 sec car so i dunno what to tell you.

There were 2 or 3 at Texas Motorplex last time I was there and they were running mid to high 12s. This was not too long after they were released so I doubt they were modded.

Stunned, I race him again from 60-120mph and put 2-3 cars on him. Ended up following him to my town and talking to him at a gas station: he had cams (reground stockers), ported heads, a intake and headers that were NOT a "joe-Z". Forgot what he said, but it was a japanese tuner shop according to him.

Anyways, he said he put down 398rwhp and ran 12.9 @ 112mph the week before last with a DA "in the negative 1000' range" on ET Streets. He laughed his *** off over your guys's comments about how they are a 12 second car stock. Not a single one in the Washington and Oregon area has hit 12's even with slicks and intakes/exhaust.

Oh yeah, he said when he was stock he was dead even with stock 6spd LS1 camaro's: the IS-F's launch better but the LS1 has a bit better pull up top. "mid 13's all day long, thing didn't heat soak at all compared to other cars I've had".

Had that impression when he said he "had the cams reground and cleaned the ports up". Thats a term I haven't heard in 20 years: regrinding the base circle of the a cam to make the lobe bigger. Didn't think it was possible for a number of reasons on the newer steel cams and especially with his overhead cam setup, but its what he said.
