Default ISF vs TransAm

This was from a dig. I threw a nasty rev a few seconds before the light went green to let him know my intentions. Clear, straight, grooved concrete ahead and not another car in sight. I get about a fender to the top of first and give it back during the shift. We are dead even through second and he gets a half length with my 2-3 shift. I get maybe a two feet back till the top of third when I let off. He won by a fender. Good race...one of the better ones I've had in a while. Fast car that Lexus and the 8-speed auto surely helped him.

Damn, 8-speed auto?! I've gotta do some reading about those things. Very nice race. I've heard about them but I didn't realize they were that quick. Awesome.

EDIT: Wow, they weigh 3,825 but I suppose that's what you get with a "luxury" performance car. Still a lot lighter than some of the newer "muscle" cars and I'm still seeing high 12s stock. That's awesome. Nice to see a fast Lexus out there.

They can trap near 114 if I remember...very fast Lexus from the factory! Your car is strong to stay that close, good death!!!

I was pleased to have hung that well with him after I got home and did some research. I am full weight plus sub and amp in the back. My last dyno was 326 on a dynojet a few years ago before the intake and tune. I am probably not much higher now. My launch was perfect and he was RIGHT THERE...maybe he used launch controll, I dunno. I couldn't tell if he had any passengers as it was dark and the ISF windows were tinted. It was a very sharp looking ride. I wish I would have been in the vette though

Yeah, the Vette would have been a much different story but I'd rather have a close loss than just walk the other car hard (unless the guy's an *******, that is).

I raced one of those things 3 or 4 months ago from a 60-120 roll when i was catback/tune/vavaram CAI: I pulled away decently but not near as fast as I thought I would.

After researching just what the hell it was (never heard of it before that, though it was a tuner boy-racer car based on its aftermarket looking front end) found there stats and reviews put them even with a stock GTO: same weight, 16 more hp but less torque, 0-60 in 4.7-5.0, 1/4 in 13.0-13.2 @107-109mph. magazine racing says its a tad faster than the GTO, but not from what I saw in real life.

OP, honestly you should have walked him with your mods, shouldn't have even been close. Either somethings up with your car or he was modded. Regardless, 'run what ya brung' and kudos for posting up a loss! Next time pick on a stock one! lol

Eye-opening acceleration awaits with 416 hp [2] and 371 lb-ft of torque [2] from the IS F's quad-cam aluminum 5.0-liter V8 deliver racetrack-worthy acceleration. damn that thing is pretty good stock but at $57,760.00 i will pass

He may have been modded as my car is running pretty good I think....I spanked a Challenger SRT8 from a roll a few weeks ago. I do have a SES on though for low voltage knock sensors...that may be pulling some timing. Another thing is you went from a roll and I think the ISF may be a 0-100 wonder with that 8 speed. If I would have grabbed fourth and stayed in it, who knows, I may have reeled him in. I did read a post recently by a cts-v driver (LS6 or LS2) that said the ISF was trouble for them.

Yes, I lift when I shift but I'm back in the throttle before engagement. Almost sounds like a powershift. 5000' altitude. DA was probably about 4000' with the cold air and high BP last night.

They don't have any launch control. 2010s have limited slips - prior years have a E-traction device.

Mods that are available are limited to a 'joe-z' intake and exhaust. They dyno about 350-355 on 93octane and about 340torque. Mods get them up to about 375.

I've heard low 12's is the number they run.

Lexus is definitely stepping their game up, the up coming LFA sounds sick. V10 that redlines at over 9k.

Give me a ******* break fellas!!! Step off the japanese circle jerk rug and get back to reality. I just happened to race another one wednesday night on my way home. raced him once from 35mph (second worst spot to race from with a A4 GTO: 3,000rpms in second and wont downshift): guy stayed riight with me to about 60mph where I finally hit my powerband and slowly pulled away. Stunned, I race him again from 60-120mph and put 2-3 cars on him. Ended up following him to my town and talking to him at a gas station: he had cams (reground stockers), ported heads, a intake and headers that were NOT a "joe-Z". Forgot what he said, but it was a japanese tuner shop according to him.

Anyways, he said he put down 398rwhp and ran 12.9 @ 112mph the week before last with a DA "in the negative 1000' range" on ET Streets. He laughed his *** off over your guys's comments about how they are a 12 second car stock. Not a single one in the Washington and Oregon area has hit 12's even with slicks and intakes/exhaust.

Oh yeah, he said when he was stock he was dead even with stock 6spd LS1 camaro's: the IS-F's launch better but the LS1 has a bit better pull up top. "mid 13's all day long, thing didn't heat soak at all compared to other cars I've had".
