i got into an argument with a stang guy that said "bolt on" s197 can run 11's. i said no way in ****.

turns out if you put over 6k of "bolt on" parts, reduce weight and eliminate accessories they can run 11.9's. but they wouldn't reveal the trap speed for some reason.
i know of a 3v that went 11.99@113 1.62 60', da below sea level, race weight over 3500 with driver. Stock motor from t/b to pan, just bolt ons

is it possible for a bolt on 2v to hit 12's---- perhaps. if the stars align correctly.

but it is very unlikely for most people. more like high 13's.

High 13s stock. He wasn't referring to stock 2v doing 12. There are plenty of modded 2v in the 12s.

Check out this N/A 2v build. His only mods are headers, heads, and exhaust. And those heads came with a mild cam.

who cares. 99% of 2v's are slow as ****. and they will remain that way. yes you can make them fast with parts and tuning, just like you can to a prelude or a civic.

Thank you!

Heads/cams/full exhaust and only 330rwhp? No thanks!

330rwhp was fun when I was 17.

99-04 5spd GTs can (and have) hit as low as 13.7-13.8 stock. If somebody is running bolt-ons (which will be in the 260-280rwhp range, btw) and still can't pull lower than high 13s, they need driving lessons.

you are taking above average numbers from one car and comparing them to average to below average numbers from another. a pi gt that has gone 13's stock is just as rare as a cobra running low 13's or a ls1 running high 12's or an 03 cobra running low 12's. does it happen.. sure is it common place no. it does not negate the fact that it has happend or can happen. sometimes a good running car ends up in the hands of a good driver. just as a poor running car ends up in the hands of a poor driver.

Exactly . And the 96-01 Cobras are affected greatly by the dismal 3.27 gearing. They are hampered more-so than the 2V PI GTs are. So with the PI GT's better low-end torque, they tend to get off the line a little better from what I've seen/heard.

All this talk about 2V's is depressing-might be time to get rid of mine as I don't want to spend a gazillion dollars to put it on par with my bone stock T/A...
