So regardless of what people have done on a 2v you're going to poo poo it just because it's a 2v?

I mean is it really that hard to believe a person that can drive can get .1 quicker in a car than the stock times listed? :/
2v's run 14.0

We are talking stock cars, not modded.

Yes, very hard to believe.. Since I have never seen a stock 2V or even simple bolt ons (intake short throw) run a 13.9 or faster. Not on the internet, talking real life.

I think the point is its kinda difficult to make a 2v run a good time and produce good times so the guys with LSx platforms fail to see the novelty or importance of modding them.

Yeah... so was I. Modded ones easily go 13.5s

I'd point you to Youtube to show you, but then you'd just call it "internet racing" Anyone however posting a similar video in this forum is legit. Those ones of youtube, those are internet videos.

Hard? No. Easy and as cost effective as a LS1? Certainly not.

What if you want something other than a Fbody.. or even a GM?

I don't 100% believe anything I see on here.. Not only do I not know what is done to the car but most people don't include the DA which is a HUGE factor when looking at track times. Hell, I know people that have freak runs and run a 7.5@93mph when EVERY single other 50-60 passes including the ones that night the fastest has been consistent 7.7s@90mph.. Would I call that a 7.5 car? Hell no, it runs 7.5s, just because it amazingly ran that time one time, regardless of reasons, its not that quick.
I'm not being hypocrytical, I call it as I see it... GM/Ford/Import based, doesn't matter to me.

But yes, to answer your statement... I would call it "internet racing", regardless of what it is.

Then we really agree.

The fastest known time for a stock (read fully stock) 2v GT was a 13.6/7. And that's from what *I* know. There could be faster. I would NEVER call that the average times decent drivers can get with 2v. That would be trollish.

Most people that don't know how to drive (The majority of people) are getting 14s in stock 2v.

Most people that DO know how to drive are getting high 13s regularly.

It's the same way with Camaro's. Most Camaro runs I've seen are in the 14s. why? Because most people can't drive. However, those than can .. well we know the results.

Again, I am in no way exaggerating about the performance on my car, or any other 2v GT out there. 13.9 is slow. Hell a decent driver in a stock SRT-4 can run that.

But lets say after all this, you still wont agree. Can you explain to me how it's simply not possible for a car that is rated a 14.0 (By averages) can't hit 13.9s regularly by those that know how to drive? Again, we are talking .1 of a second here. People have done that not even trying.

Really though, if it gets any more silly I'll just invite the many people I know who did 13.9s regularly in a stock GT. I am sure they'll love to be told it's not possible.

*mwaaah* You know I lub you lemonparty.

I guess I just want something more than "Na na na it doesn't run that because I said so"

I really don't think that is too much to ask is it?

Actually I wouldn't mind having a 2004 GT 5 speed. If I did get one I would keep it 100% looking stock. I wouldn't even lower it or change the style of the wheels. And I would turn it into a hell of a sleeper. I think that would be fun.

I've thought of that too, but I'd rather a 96-98GT with a warmed over Mach motor in it, 3.90s, alum DS, and a 3650 in it. To me, that'd be one helluva fun sleeper.

Lowered with chrome saleens, or Cobras.

All you would have to do is drop the POS 2V for a SBF.
Hell, put your 331 into a new edge and build the 351w for your current heap.

I almost said 'personal' issues. LOL

Actually, the other 'sleeper' I like is yours. If I got a pushrod, it'd be modeled after yours.

I'm eventually going to get a 1968 Mustang Fastback. The 331 is going in it and it will be my show car. I love the *** end of a 67-68 fastback and they are much less seen than a 69-70.
