I do really want to get back into a mach more than anything, but the reality of it is, I'm so far from either that it doesn't really matter. I'll just live vicariously through all the board members and MA.

And no, I'm not lying about yours. If I got a pushrod, I'd be calling you up for info etc. cause I love that N/A setup you've got.

EDIT: here's my latest tear maker:
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/1533600821.html
It's 95% of what I want in a mach. Take out the HID headlamps, and 4.10s (put in 3.73s/3.90s instead) and that is what I want. Even has the Borla Stingers and FR500s baby!
He's dropped the price $1000 this past week.

Well I like dicking with motors and if my car isn't broken I'm constantly doing things to try to break it.
So if you are like me and LOVE turning wrenches then a 5.0/351 based motor is definately the ticket. When I pop the hood on a DOHC 4v I just look at it and go..."ah **** it" and go back to what I was doing. I like hand room in an engine bay. And the simplicity of the pushrod motors.
My next build will be a 418W with a SuperVic EFI intake, solid roller cam, and HOPEFULLY some 280cc Victor Gliden heads (but those heads start out at $3,200). Hello 600rwhp N/A!

Too bad I wasn't closer to you two, I'd tinker with the mach while you did your pushrod. They can be 'deceiving' when you pop the hood.

you want room to work in the engine bay, look no farther than a new GTO. Especially after the vavaram and LT header install, there is room to work on everything without disassembling other crap first! I don't have pics of it with the LT's,

The open engine bay, simple yet high quality interior, and sleeper aspect are what drew me to a GTO. Funny thing was, for a long time I had secretly wanted to do a late 80's 5.0 LX build because of nearly the same reasons but I got into motorcycle racing... then the LS1 f bodies came out and steered me towards LSX engines.

Its not fuel related. I'm an idiot for thinking it was. The car wouldn't even turn over so that is not fuel related. More than likely the starter got stuck but it hasn't done it again. I told her to drive the car, if it happens again I'll change her starter.

Obviously you didn't understand what I posted or you wouldn't say that, or what you proceeded to say.
I honestly don't care that one 2V amazingly somehow ran a 13.7. The fact is 98% of them don't run that. Maybe you need to think about what I mean by "internet numbers" and "real world" numbers. In real world numbers, they don't run that, ever.
I agree, mid-high 14s.
If the fastest is 13.7, high 13s, even with a good driver will not regularly happen. Why? Because even with one hell of a driver you need ALL other aspects to come together. Track prep and DA are the two biggest ones, which in all honesty those 3 rarely all three happen. Just like ls1s are capable of running a 12 second pass, but they are not 12 second cars. They need a lot of different variables to all come together and make it a perfect situation on a perfect pass. Meaning, internet numbers.
So "most" ls1s you see run they run 13s, but 2Vs regularly run 13s there? This is why I think you are being naive.
But you are is the thing.
Because I could care less what a car is rated at. I am going off what I have seen first hand.
Go ahead and call in your internet troopers, doesn't change anything at all.. Call in 500 out of 600 people in here that says they have done it. I will call in 500 out of 500 people that have ran 12s in their bone stock fbdodys.
I have gave you much more than that over and over.
The fastest known time for a stock (read fully stock) 2v GT was a 13.6/7. And that's from what *I* know. There could be faster. I would NEVER call that the average times decent drivers can get with 2v. That would be trollish.
Most people that don't know how to drive (The majority of people) are getting 14s in stock 2v.
Most people that DO know how to drive are getting high 13s regularly.
It's the same way with Camaro's. Most Camaro runs I've seen are in the 14s. why? Because most people can't drive. However, those than can .. well we know the results.
Again, I am in no way exaggerating about the performance on my car, or any other 2v GT out there.
But lets say after all this, you still wont agree. Can you explain to me how it's simply not possible for a car that is rated a 14.0 (By averages) can't hit 13.9s regularly by those that know how to drive? Again, we are talking .1 of a second here. People have done that not even trying.
Really though, if it gets any more silly I'll just invite the many people I know who did 13.9s regularly in a stock GT. I am sure they'll love to be told it's not possible.

I guess I just want something more than "Na na na it doesn't run that because I said so"
