Now your catching on! Its not cheap, but modifying cars rarely is. I did the math a while back and determined that it would take around $3500 to hit 12s reliably, the way I wanted. (Keep in mind the ecu costs around $1k, its somewhat similar to hptuners.) Then I had an epiphany and realized that I could just buy an LS1 with that money and still have the Acura for a DD. my old motor from my RSX should be in the mid 12s this coming season, still stock internals with a 100 shot.

Ohhhhh ok, I see. Can you post up some videos or some of your timeslips of your 12 second RSX? I figure you have already posted them on the RSX boards. So you shouldn't have a problem posting them here.

I knew this guy that wanted to race my cousin, my cousin has a b18b block with a type R head and a GSR tranny with a stage 3 clutch, skunk2 ecu and the thing runs like low 13s without it being tuned the cool thing is its N/A no turbo nothing on it, with a tune it be high 12s or so... but anyway this other guy use to work for Acura so he knew the ins and outs of his RSX and they both raced and that RSX pulled on him like it was nothing. Dont know exact numbers or anything but it sure as hell ran good....

my cousin ended up buying an 08 vette lol and now the civic is parked

They cost around $23.5 new, I paid 16 for mine. I know, its not as fast as a camaro/mustang/firebird/gto whatever but its a much better all around car and retains value really well. Why does this matter? When the car got totaled I paid off the rest of the loan and payed off my Z with the positive equity. That being said, I refuse to buy another one until prices drop.

Right after I first bought my 5.0, I had C&L intake, 76mm MAF, Flowmasters (duh!), midpipe, shifter, and UD pullies. Still had the stock 3.08 gears. A black RSX with a fart can came up beside me with numbers on his window, he had been at the track I guess. We went from a roll, I beat him. We went from a dead stop, I beat him worse.

RSXs are jokes. Fun to drive but from a performance point of view....why try?

I think my mind is set on a mind blowing RSX. I'll trade my SS plus cash for a stock RSX since it holds its value way more than my fbody. Plus I only need a fart can, superchip, 2.4 block/cams and CAI to hit 12s. Lets not forget that I'll look a lot better doing 12s in the RSX than in the SS.

Thanks to you finkle06, you saved me a lot of trouble.

Like I said... this coming season. And the motor is not in an RSX anymore. K series in the 12s is old news. This is my friends old car, ran mid 12s NA about 3 years ago. I guess he sold it to Pro function? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52P6NwcdnJ0

330i s are awesome cars. I had a 325i about a year ago, it was kinda slow but a really nice car. I just couldn't justify the repair bills (350$ for a belt tensioner?!) I went in search of a 330ci but I ended up with G35 6MT. Its a little bit quicker and a lot cheaper to own.

And the award for avoiding the most questions/comments goes to..... FINKLE!

The relevance of "your friends" pile of **** civic racing an LT1 to your RSX running 12s is astounding.

The "all around nicer car" or "holds its value more" and "it wasn't that fast but a nice car" comments get you nothing on this board. Not being a dick, just a heads up.

98% of us care about straight line performance and nothing more, we don't need navigation/heated seats/etc etc etc...
And hate to break it, but no 4 cyl. or V6 is going to hang when the modding starts, period. There is no replacement for displacement. When is the last time you saw a cams only 4 cyl. in the mid 11s?

"Just saying"..

Yes, the ugliest civic of the planet. Now what? Want me to find you a pretty one? Post up some pics of yor car. Jesus, i'm not comparing civics to the almighty LS1. Obviously a car with 40 somthing years of racing heratige can beat a stock Honda with a 1/3 of the displacement. I think you guys just live around a bunch of dumbass ricers that dont know what their doing and give imports a bad name.

This has to be the worst video of all time; no time slip, wrong car that turns out to be a pile of **** on a back road that proves nothing.
Your RSX is slow, this civic is ugly and slow, nobody here will ever agree with your BS talk about RSX beeing faster than a lsx fbody with boltons, and even less that it looks better.
