I was actually surprised the Evo pulled on the Z06 even though it makes the power it does. I just figured the Vette's weight/gearing/aerodynamics would still overcome the hp difference. Interesting. Good vids.

So a cammed out, over boosted, modded to hell Evo beat a stock C6 Z06??
Sorry, not impressed.
Get some bolt ons on the Z06 and whoop that ricers *** lol!!
Not to mention the Z will still be going strong after 100K miles, the Evo will be lucky to last 10K.

It is what it is and the evo raped that z pretty good..With 542 rwhp can you imagine what that car runs in the 1/4 mile with the awd???
Weres slow vette when you need him...An air intake and tune is all this vette will need to claim a W...he he he

an intake+tune will give you some nice gain on Z06s.... and street racing have many factors, most imp the drivers.....

With only 524whp, that was more than likely a pump or pump/meth tune. I'd be worried about the stock bottom end with nearly 500tq though.

What are you referring to??
Its an overboosted, overstressed 2.0L 4 cylinder. Its gonna blow up sooner or later making that kind of power. Do you have any idea what kind of stress 542WHP puts on engine internals?? The 4G63 isn't magic, making big numbers with a small engine will take its toll. I've worked on Evos that were making 200WHP less and were already showing signs of failure.
and no the Evo is not over boosted.... and any car that beats a Z06 is impressing.....

Only 542WHP?? LOL, the engine was on its last legs 100WHP ago at that level. Just because it can make the power doesn't mean its designed to.

but yeah overall, it is a strong motor with lots of power, so i guess thats why they blow up fast (especially when people drive them HARD)
and again, ive seen a lot (well not really a lot, but i personally know 4) Evos in the 450-500whp range with stock bottom end and lasted more than a year of hard driving on the weekends, no issues till now
but to be honest i don't really know a lot about EVOs and STIs, so you might be right

I realize that someone with a 300whp Fbody such as yourself might think that is a lot of power, but for a turbo that has made over 700whp, it is not. Horsepower itself has very little significance in engine longevity, it's the torque that will get you. That's something that probably wasn't taught at your oil changing seminar.
