Destroyed a cammed 05+ GT and bolt on STI
Me and some buddies went on a short trip out of town so one of them could sell a cam to a friend of ours and we had nothing better to do lol. Well it turns out that our friend buying the cam has some buddies that want some friendly races. One car was a bolt on STI and the other was a bolt on cams only GT. We all knew I was gonna win but they wanted to see how fast my car was. First was the GT from a first gear roll. He honks 3 times and it was already over. I had 4-5 cars by the top of third and shut down. Then the STI and I line up from a first gear roll. He honked it off and I just walked away hard. Had a bus length or so by the middle of fourth. I know they aren't impressive but I haven't had any action in a long time.

The GT was an 06 and the STI was an 07. They both put down 290rwhp but the STI was dynoed on a mustang dyno.

I'm not sure. I haven't got it tuned yet. I am waiting untill I can get an LS6 intake so I don't have to bother with a retune. If I were to guess I would say 400-420 rwhp.

Nothing about the cammed 3v sounds right. If you couldn't hear your car over it "loping it's *** off" then the cams that he had were hurting his performance rather than helping it. Oh and a stock 3v with a tune will put down 290rwhp. Sounds to me like it was a stock 3v or a lightly bolt on one with a vaccum line taken off.

This. When i worked at infiniti we had a younger customer come in and while his car was being serviced he was talking about how he wanted to cam it.
I told him that cams for his car are very expensive to buy and install and that he would ot really see any gains, especially since he had only a short ram intake but he said he just wanted that badass idle sound lol

don't quote me on this, but, i had a 05 g35 and i thought i remembered that it had something on one side or the other cant remember if it was exhaust or intake. but like i said don't quote me i could be mistaken

All years do. 03-05 have exhaust only, and 06+ have both intake and exhaust variable valves to include both the 350Z and G35 respectively.

Nice kills. They need to learn how to setup their cars...plain and simple. And that's not your fault. 290rwhp out of a S197 cammed is laughable.
Tune definitely sucked and the cams probably weren't degreed correctly.

VVT is what 350Zs and G35s had.
Starting with the VQ in the G37 VQs came with VVEL in 2007.
