that whole story is crap. that GTO is stock, or the GT is sprayed to within a inch of its life. a stock short block 05+ can take around 500rwhp before it blows.

look, i run 10psi and one intake valve for daily driving. its a B head 4v so i can run one intake valve with IMRC's. it gets pretty good gas milage and still has good torque.

i ran a 06 GTO here in gallatin TN with headers,CAI, exhaust. i pulled about 1/2 car through 2nd. 3rd gear he pulled back even , O/D he started easing away. and at about 150 i started catching back up.

thats not a fast GTO by most standards, and i absolutely MURDER 3v's in MY street trim. i let them get ahead of me and blow by them. that whole story is crap.

i was passing cars on highway 53 headed to huntsville. a 2010 was behind me. i passed 5 or 6 cars in a line and he would eventually do the same. we hit open road and he passed the last few cars and stayed in the left lane with 100's of feet run on me. when he got about 3 cars behind me i hit it. he got just about beside me and i left him behind.

that GTO would murder any N/A 3V.

This was my GTO. I sold it in July for a Mach 1. The GTO was tuned by HiTech, had their custom cam, 5.3 heads port mached, fast ported 90mm intake, 90mm TB, k&n cai, kooks LT and mid pipe, slp udp, 42 lb injectors and a gmm ripshifter. I missing something I know. The car burnt a lot of oil. There was most likely something wrong with it. When I first got the car it felt really strong but then slowly felt weaker. So who really knows, I decided to sell it.

That reminds me of the time I ran an A4 bolt on LS1 when I had HCI on my 5.0 (327rwhp). We were neck and neck up until mid 3rd gear when I started to pull. You could tell he was "WTF? " when I wasn't falling behind between shifts. T5 trans is so damn easy to power shift.

But yea at the track a well setup auto is win. But a fast manual car is pimp

Agreed to that last part.

My dad's Focus is easy as hell to powershift, must be a Ford thing.

Worst performing H/C/I GTO ive ever seen? I think so! Wow, Im confident my bolt on GTO could have beaten that car... It did go 12.1 at 114 with bolt ons though..

^ it trapped 108 driving it easy down the track. It definitely needed some looking over. Oh well, it's gone to someone with money that can fix it. All the mods are in my sig.

"HiTech Motorsport" should be sued by you for building a totally crappy build. Sorry, but you got ripped off by a shop that didnt know what they were doing. Boltons and a decent cam in a LS2 would be trapping 112mph MINIMUM. And it would have destroyed that GT.

Not ******* on you: at least you were smart enough to get rid of the lemon. Just don't ever go back to that lame shop again.... a tuner shop putting 5.3L heads onto a LS2...

Unless I'm missing something, the GTO in question is a LS1 '04, no?

Still, w/ those mods that car should have been faster than a 108 trap.

Seems like a load of BS to me. H/C 3V's put like 340 WHP down. Thats pathetic. Thats why no one builds them all motor and uses blowers and spray instead. And that GTO is pretty sad to be a H/C car as well.

I do know that it seemed like that whipple GT would embarrass both of them though. Pedaling the gas not to rearend the other stang LOL!

The 5.3, LS2 and LS6 all use the same 243 casting cylinder heads with the only differences being the LS2/LS6 received Yellow springs and the LS6 got hollow intake/sodium-filled exhaust valves exclusively. In short, there all the same.
