Default Vid: 465whp Cobra vs. 405whp WS6

http://www.streetfire.net/video/FMR-...710_740052.htm

Quick take on the first race, he started in 2nd, I was in 1st. I chose it specifically because normally the Mickeys bite and with the 4.10's I get a good move on the hit, but I don't know if it was the cold or the fact that the tires are as worn as they are, but I basically just powerslid straight thru 1st and well into second before pedaling back and it finally hooked. By this time the Cobra was sitting at my door and we pretty much stayed that way through the top of 4th when I hit the limiter inadvertantly. 2nd roll we both started from first but aside from a little initial spin my tires bit good, he said he spun a little too before it hooked so.. sorry for the quality, but thanks for killing time with me

With the Cobra making so much more HP and I would think weighing less why didn't the Cobra win? From a dig I could see a huge difference depending on traction. But from a roll I thought the Cobra would have you. Course I don't know the gear ratios and the torque curve of each car either. It's good to see you just having fun and not slamming each other. The ford versus GM gets old to me.

I raced a Mustang about a year ago on the street and we both stopped at the next light and said good race. I figured he wanted to race when he purged his nitrous and nodded his head at me. I nodded back at him to let him know it was a go. I let off at about 120 MPH which was about the 1/8th or so. I told him to meet up with my crowd at a local track and hang out. Never saw him again though. Nice guy.

cobra didnt win because Mustang and Honda horsepower graphs evaporate like smoke when put up against any LS engine. Fact. Good runs!

Edit: almost forgot, the Cobra does not weigh less than a Fbody. I believe its 200 pounds or so heavier.

Good runs man! Car sounds good for sure. I figured it would be a lot closer but maybe with him weighing more and driver mod in your favor? Regardless a win is a win

Really. My mistake. 200lbs makes up for about 2 tenths. And driver from a roll just doesn't seem that difficult to me so I didn't think that would count for much. I have known some granny shifters in my day though. My WS-6 weighed in at about 3600lbs stock.

I know a few 8.50 class Mustang racers and I wouldn't even suggest that thay care about HP. It's ET all the way for them. I'm more the Internet racer than they are. So it's not all Mustang folks. I've met many a young man thinking that they have the **** and listen to their own BS. It's not specific to a type of car but more age and experiance.

3600lbs? Seriously? My friend just weighed his full interior, bolton M6 2002 WS6 and it came in at 3460lbs wet- and thats with his nitrous bottle and extra fuel cell in it.

well from what i have heard the pontiacs weighed more because of the body kit and interiors. they are nicer. but weigh more than the camaros. but that's just what i have heard. so take it or leave it.
edit: just looked it up, the numbers vary alot but seems like the ws6 weighs around 100lbs more give or take

yeah but the dynamic co-efficient of shear load multiplied by the aerodynamic high pressure zones slicing into the low pressure reversed air currents offsets that weight and gives them at least 30 more rwhp once they get over 100mph! At least thats what the Honda ricer said about his body kit and giant aluminum wing on his Accord.

Wet is the standard measure or Curb weight for the US. All fluids and all standard options are included in the curb weight calculations. Now I weighed my car at a gas station truck weight scale that was certified. I tried to center it but who knows how accurate they are. I assumed it was close.

Now if the car has non standard options then the weight goes up. For example CD changers, Articulating seats etc. would add to the weight of the vehicle.

The Trans Am Coupe has a curb weight of 3495 for the Manual. However what I can't find is the weight specific to the WS6. Everything I read just says Trans Am Coupe. I'm not sure if this includes the monsoon system either. LOL...now you have me curious. The truck stop wasn't run by rocket scientists so who knows...LOL

They don't call them heatons for nothin. After one race they start losing power very fast if they do not have time to cool down. The 456rwhp was probably done after the motor had cooled down and/or iced.

Oh and good kill
