Default GT3 meets 09 CTS-V for a game of chase

So we(mikeL@diablo and myself) were out data logging the 09 CTS-V the other day... we needed to log some WOT runs...so we hopped on the highway...I put the 6 speed auto in manual mode... downshifted to i think 3rd gear....as I was about to punch it...I noticed a black vehicle coming up FAST behind us in the fast lane...broad daylight,...hid's blazing....it's a black Porsche. I waited to get on it,..and I let him pass me...the moment he did, I pulled behind him, and quickly matched his speed....

..he got stuck, or we got stuck behind some other 4000+ objects on the track at that moment.... we waited,..I was waiting on the hit from the porsche,...which by the way, is a slammed Black GT3,...looked like it had wheels and black tint...I don't know of any mods if any on the Gt3.

traffic let up,...he saw an opening to the right,..he took it, I followed,..as I shifted manually(usually just leave it in sport mode) I was staying right on his ***.... every move he made, he just couldn't pull away. I ended up lifting, as he was apparently in a big hurry, and my logging run ended....plus,...he started to do some crazy ****, I wasn't wanting to do in someone elses car. So we called it quits. The big 4 door handled the WOT manuvers we had to do to stay with the porsche without any issues what so ever. This V is truly a wicked car...one of the best cars I have ever driven.... no doubt, this thing will probably pull on a 600cc bike....with 4 doors.

I'm sure the GT3 dude had no clue with how fast these big bodies can be.

mods to v at that time were heat exchanger/pulley/catback/generic tune

Also ran into a 94-95 Sn95 mustang, white, last night,...him and I went from a slow roll....and ended up being a dead even race till about 110-120...where I let out due to if I didn't,...the idiot in the dragged out mustang would have surely killed himself trying to win. It was a pushrod motor in it, on a two step...dumps,..welds I believe... clean car. We went again,... had to abort cause of another douchel on the road. Bottom line,...this car is amazing.

It's great man. Especially after today, he came by and installed another tune based on the hours of logs we gave him. Now,..it's unreal. He did a great job bro.

Hitting the standing mile with it tomorrow

Awesome car for sure. Major handling differences won't be seen on the highway, just the road circuit.

Unless on the spray, you have no hope of pulling a well driven 600cc sport bike.

I don't agree hommie. Maybe for a short SPURT with this car vs a bike BUT,... over all,.. I am thinking higher speeds,.. I know for a fact, this V, will beat a 600. I base everything off the standing mile,.. look at overall capability of a 600cc bike in the mile,.. 160's?... MAYBE?..

Top end, they're not super fast mang. Again, maybe a quick hit/roll....but overall,..the bike would get ran down.

Well jeeze given enough time a stock C6 can run down a Hyabusa too because of top speed differentials. It's irrelevant and not a race.

New busa can do around 190-194mph unrestricted when bone stock: basic mods can tickle 200mph. Can a base C6 do that? 'course all new jap bikes are limited to 188mph bone stock. So if a C6 is maxed out right around 190mph, and the Busa is tapping its limiter at 186-188mph, and the C6 is 1/8 mile behind it we are talking about a LONG wait for it too pass it! lol

Man, I am in love with those new CTS-V's and I haven't even been in one yet. Based on how much I loved driving the old ones around a course, I can only imagine how fun the new one is.

I test drove one. It was pretty badass.
No real complaints, only that the door was a little heavy.

Modded is modded. Substitute a Z-06, the point is the same. Just as if the modded V races a 600, same scenario.

Why you hating man? You have no clue what kind of power this car is making or what it traps in the 1/4 but will sit there and argue with the guy about how fast the car is or what it is capable of? Sounds like you don't want to believe the potential of this car! Seeing as how a regular H/C/I F-body will be a good run for a stock 600cc bike, I don't see any reason this guy couldn't outrun one. I've seen some 600cc bikes only trap 116-118 in the 1/4. Some of the newer ones have gone 120+ but still a manageable # for this car to handle. Stop all the hate man and try giving some credit where credit is do. OP About how much power is this car making?

Lol! There is no hating at all. The owner now says he could take a 600 on a top end run. Well duh! A good number of readers of this thread could do pretty good against a 600 from a 130mph start. Big deal.

Fact is Deuuuuce, the 600 WILL lose steam at 125-235mph. The V would STEAMROLL it on the highway.

Did you sell the turbo FRC??? That car was ******* wicked.

What all is done to the V?

Doesn't the v trap around 115 to 117 stock? Makes complete since for it to even stay close to a 600cc bike from a slow roll.. I believe he said that its around 550+whp on another thread that he started a few weeks back... should have him trapping around 122 to 124mph in the 1/4 and 185mph+ in the standing mile
