Got yanked by a KB Cobra
Driving to the local QT, I noticed a vert mineral gray mustang on the opposite side of traffic and throws a rev at me as I pass. I know I'm not so busy, so I make a u-turn and catch up with him about a mile later.
I notice the 03/04 Cobra back bumper, so I figure I'm in for something fun. He sees me coming up, he gets on it a little, lets off, then I goose it a bit, and we both make the turn to get on the highway.
He slows down to around a 35-40 roll, and I get right next to him. We both nail it (I took a slight hit) and I hear a massive whine coming from his car. I think he definitely saw me smiling at the sound, and he pulled an instant half car length, shifted, and pulled another 2.5 cars up to 100. Do another pull, almost exact same, same outcome. We get off the highway, and we get to talk a bit at the light.
He tells me it's a Kenne Bell 2.2 liter, and "it pulls decent".
He asks what I have, and I tell him I have a 6 liter, and he asked what kind of heads I had lol. For reference, I put down just under 400 rwhp and 400 rwtq in slightly nicer weather than today. We both exchange thumbs up, and go on our ways! Ironic, considering I had not more than one hour before the race gotten off the phone with Josh at KYTP to talk about a 91mm for a forged 408

He was a real nice guy, he actually wanted to talk more but his light turned green so we didn't get the chance. I know I will probably catch up to him at some point in the future, I just need to make sure I'm ready for round 2 lol

Also, out of curiosity, how are the KB cobras becoming a rarity? I claim ignorance on the subject, so that's why I ask. I always assumed every Cobra eventually ended up Whippled or KBed (or a turbo setup of some sort).

That's one way to slow down. Unless it's the 3.4L Whipple of course.
Too many guys are running 11's with 2.2L KB's when low 10's should be the
norm.
Respectable death. What happened to your sig? It changed over night?

Gaunt - WTF is up with the eclipse? Are you saying that's what you raced the KB Cobra in? If so, hmmm....
