I wouldnt' expect him to win, but just not an annihilation.

Seriously, why do you even ask if you'll beat him. Answer is... who the hell knows? race him and find out. Then post it in this section after you race him.

I believe I said that in both cases, my whole point was that if the dude can drive and have some sticky tires it may be interesting, thats all. Bolt on/geared Cobras can and do run pretty good.

Or his car would break? Dude the limiter on a stock Cobra is set at 7200 rpm, pony is correct, alot of people short shift these cars who don't know a ton about them, these 4v DOHC motors shine in the upper rpms, they don't make **** for torque down low but from 3250-7200 rpms even a stock Cobra pulls pretty damn hard. So revving this car that high won't cause it to "break"

That being said a SN95 Cobra from a roll against an LS is not a good race and from the sound of the two cars the Cobra guy would be an idiot to take that race...digs and traction would be the great equalizer. I really didn't do much roll racing in mine b/c I know it would get eaten up, that being said from a dig it stuck hard and I could drive the thing so it ran 12.7x's off the bottle and 11.8x's on spray so yeah look at the tires

Lots of people lie about their mods and apparently you dont even know exactly what his mods are? Usually an LS would put the hurt on a SN95 cobra, but a modded one is nothing to sneeze at.

Make sure to record it, have fun doing it!

^ +1. True. lol. I don't lie about my mods but I sometimes "bend the truth" to mess with arrogant people or just summarize it to just bolt-ons, suspension, and weight reduction.

Depending on his gears, it will be close. My friend has a 97 cobra with Longtubes, Off road X-pipe, catback, & 4.10's... He runs a 13.61 with street tires. Pretty fast car.. But i think you can get him!

We all know the outcome. Stock for stock the ls1 wins. If the stang has gears and tires it will be a battle.

Off topic: ponygt65, is that a picture of a dude in your avatar?
if so get rid of that ****. That can't possibly be a chic.

It's actually a horrible time for that setup. Unless of course he was running in a crappy DA.

As stated, most guys don't know how to drive 4V stangs. Shifting out of powerband is extremely common.

Another point to make, yeah that time sucks with the mods listed, but it takes a hell of a driver to drive a car geared that steep on street tires on the track. Really to do that car any justice it needs a good set of DR's

Yup, sure do and she still has a better *** than ponygt65's avatar. Want me to pick you up one? You know you want one.

Back on topic: I have seen 4v 96-98 cobras with guys who know how to rip 5 spds with minimal mods, the biggest mod being steep gears, rip off some 12 sec passes with ease and pull some 11 sec passes on the bottle. The same cars with just flows and stock gears could only muster low 14's. To sum it up just don't think every 96-98 cobra is stock and do the same for every ls1.

If a 96-98 cobra can't hit 13s bone stock, then shift points really need to be looked at. (DA pending of course).
