Talking Killed 4.6 GT last night

went to the gas station tonight to get some gas for the ride and happened to spot a 99+ GT stang in one of the lanes...my friend matt says i dare you to ask him to race so of course i go over to his car and ask if he wants to line up when im done which he agreed to, though he must be def since its not like my car is quiet any longer anywayz we pull out and the light immediatly turns red so we quickly line up and i roll down my window to tell him to take it easy since i have my child seat in the back lol...light turns and i throttle in easy till i see he might actually have a shot then lay into it at around 20mph and light the tires up...the car finally hooks and leave him about 5 carlenghts back doing 70 at the beginning of second gear lol...i slow to a roll take him again and leave on him again by 3-4 lenghts lol...so we slow down and he asks what i have done...told him some exhaust mods and a Tq converter...said hes getting a blower...told him he'll need it to keep up lol...what a fun night i should do this more often

Nice run. It's too easy to pick on stock GT's, but we do it anyways.

I bet even with a conservatively boosted blower you'd still take him.

they are supposidly the competition since they are a "muscle or pony car" but in reality only other fbodies, vettes, vipers or exotics are the only "real" competition out there.

i was telling my friend the only way he COULD take me is with a blower, shifter, gears, exhaust work, CAI other than that uh uh lol...figure even the new ones only run like mid 14's stock depending on driver...this kid was young btw...and hed need to be in the mid 12's to maybe, maybe pull on me.

If he were mid 12's he would most probably pull on you.

I figure with the converter & headers i should be in the 12.7-12.8 range and would probably 60' better than a 5 speed car so it would be close...mid 12's with a 5 speed would probably have him trap at 112 or so so he have me at the top end but thats about it...midrange wed be dead even id think.

yah gotta find someone with a fast car around here...its yet to be seen...the scene here in trenton is very weak...a mix of 14 and 15 second honda's and mustangs...no cobras to be found and i dont drive around enough to get races on a normal basis.

I know a few bolt on N\A gt's(read no poweradders, heads, cams) in jersey that would gladly run you at the track. They run low 12's all day long.

THere are cars that are "real" competition. You just havent ran across them yet.

Its the older guys in the cars that look stock that really are not .

White99GT is right. The punk kids in new GT's think they are fast because they know no better. You're going to roll up to a 700rwhp 2V GT someday and he's going to put multiple football fields on you. That's an eye opening experience. FWIW, there's a 2V GT around here that runs's 10.30's at 130mph.

Still, a kill is a kill so I say good work. Just don't get too cocky. You basically beat down the kid brother of the Mustang world.

Look for a post from SM or I sometime in the spring ... I'm sure Unit will sticky it for us.
