i dont know guys, just seems a little odd how some of theses cars are dead stock vs dead stock and there are noticeable differences in performance between them weather the one year difference or 4 year difference... you always hear stories but hell theres so many different situations to really be able to tell.
haha yea manny sorry man im about 2 long days from CA or id take you up on it, im just enjoying the car, and the people ive been talkin to now vs the import crowed... always trying to be the one up'er guy ya know... i like anything fast

More about these LS1's being all over the place on the dyno this was same day:
-Buddy with an 02 SS with only LT's, ORY, corsa, and lid, stock tuning: 336/361
-My former 00 WS6 with EVERY bolt on and TR224 cam, untuned: 341/348
-After tuning with same mods I got: 356/355
-Other friend with 99 WS6 and every bolt on except LS6 intake: 327/334
-After he did TR227 cam and LS6 intake at same dyno different day he did: 374/36?

IMO he has done some mods to his stock motor that are un-neccessary. First the 1 7/8th Kooks are suggested for bigger CI or FI motors and the cut-out combined with those headers are screwing with his power band. Then you throw the tune into the equation and you can say who did it? What program did use? and How reputable is he? I would be willing to say with those mods he made good peak numbers but is not making as good of power in the low to mid ranges.

But not saying your car (OP) is not a freak. A buddy of mine has a 00 TA with just headers and open exhaust and a really basic tune by me with no other mods done not even the free mods he dynoed 345rwhp. So it's completely possible i've seen so many different numbers out of LS1's it's crazy lol.

good way to take it
on a serious note, I'm leaning towards the powerband reason: the 4L60/65E doesn't race as well from that fast of a roll as the T-56.

when my car was stock i ran bumper to bumper with a LS2 GTO that was full exhaust and tuned. It went 13.01 on BFG KDWs. sounds like it runs alot like my car. Roll races, especially 3rd and 4th gear are where our M6 cars just shine. With full exhaust and a tune i put down 359/352

damn, im hoping it puts over 400 down, it is a slp car not that it matters it hole lot... just got my arp rod bolts, crank bolt, walbro 255, hot wire kit, gasket kit along with oil pan gasket to go with what i already have... mega death cam .610/.612 lift 112 LSA and 24x/24x duration, dual roller timing chain, comp magnum push rods, ls6 ported oil pump, dual springs with ti retainers and obviously ls6 intake. still waiting on my 1 7/8 texas speed headers that are on back order with ory and all that good stuff. hopefully i can make a little over 400.... Kansas tends to get a little hot 100 degrees and more in upcoming months... wish me luck

factory freak I would reluctantly have to agree: The LS1's were notorious for there spread of power out of the factory. Never seen such a big variance on any car ever before. Examples? Go to a LS1 dyno shootout and watch the results... never even close when LS1's go at each other on a chassis dyno. Seen a 98 Z28 M6 with every concievable bolton imaginable only make 4 more rwhp than a bone stock WS6 M6.
Know of some local guys who had saw this at a dyno shootout last year:
'99 C5 M6 - 243 heads, LS6 intake, vavaram, full exhaust, 3.91 gears (and 120k miles): 34?rwhp on nitrous tune.
'02 WS6 M6 - LT's to dumped X pipe, lid: 344rwhp.
'99 Z28 M6 - every concievable bolton, ported LS6 intake, ported TB, 1.8 roller rockers, etc: 355rwhp.
'00 SS (?trans?) - bone stock, 302rwhp.

Yea you never know ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN ON THE STREETS. My 2001 Camaro Z28 dyno on a Dynojet 323 hp & 337 lb tq with a Borla exhaust only. Now I have a SLP lid so would be interesting to see numbers. But like mentioned I've beaten cars that I shouldn't of
I ran against a WS6 that was full bolt ons from a 30 & beat him by 2 cars......

Had a buddy who had a 2k model trans am he used to kick the **** out of most of the ls1s he would race. When he pulled the motor out of the car to freshin it up, he found out he had an ls6 short block minus the heads. It was an m6.

yea i figured but either way itd be cool if it did since all i want is a quick street car and not full blown track so itd be nice just to pair that block with the ls6 ported heads and itd be nice to know just exactly whats in it as of now
