Got killed....never racing my car again....
So on my way home from work today in the GP (or as I like to call it: The 5 o'clock 500) I see this G8 and I decide to give chase just to have a lil fun. I talked to the guy before at a red light on my way to work and he told me he had LT headers, exhaust, intake and I believe he said cammed. Well I made my way thru traffic and finally got on his bumper and we both make a left at the light. He smashes it as I expected and I try to keep up. Then he slows down to about thirty which is alright because now I can down shift to 1st, thats better for my car. We do a quick race from 30-85. DAMN! HE PUT LIKE 3 CARS ON ME! Now I knew he was going to beat me, no doubt. i was just trying to have some fun.....but ****! I guess I'm used to racing Mustangs! That is the first time my car has ever felt SLOW. I'm humbled by this experience. LOL!

I mean I know what it is and I knew he was faster than me...just the first time I had a chance to run one. I've ran Chargers and Mustangs....and I've beat them, I will say that its a drivers race though. I just wanted to see how my Grand Prix (GP) would fair against it. A measurement if you will. So now I know where I stand.

G8 GT's are really the 4-door Corvette. I love them. I wish they still made them
As far as the GP, I'd say get a tune if you are going to keep it. Its hard getting one of those to be really fast though. And what Mustangs/Chargers have you beat? I wasn't aware GP's were that quick (not downing you, they are a nice DD car)

Nice run, OP. A modded G8 is definitely no joke, and they're nasty on the highway. My brother has a stock one and it really shines in triple digit speeds. It was only going to get MUCH worse for you so you might want to think about modding up before messing with them.

It was debadged, but im sure it was a GT. Had GT rims on it anyway. It sounded awesome, had a real throaty sound to it. That will be my next car or CTS-V depending on the opportunity. LS4 is way too unorthadox. GXP and A V would be a damn good race. Fast 4 doors are awesome!

Good death, OP! Your best bet is a few more mods (maybe a shot of nitrous that kicks on in second gear), some sticky tires, and a dig run. Those blown 3.8's crank out from a dig when they hook up!
That must have been one hell of a shot! GXP or GT?
