If your launching abilities are in question at all, then go for a low roll race.

Also, don't compare them to a 350Z: 370Z is alot faster! Matter of fact, I raced a NISMO 350Z (supercharged) one week, then on the exact same spot of highway two weeks later ran a then-just-released 370Z: My guess is the 370Z would have edged out the NISMO 350Z. I was CAI and tune only then, and in a A4, and put about 2 cars on both from 55-110mph.
The 370Z doesn't do 0-60mph half a second faster than an LS1 F-body... that would mean it does 0-60mph in ~4.5 seconds. And a blown 350Z would butt-**** a stock 370Z.

My fiance 08 350z hooks really well and is actually a very quick car. When mine was stock she stayed with me for awhile until my top end took over. Those cars are a few hundred pounds lighter and hook alot better so from a dig it would be a pretty good race considering the 370z has a little more hp.

A stock 370Z will do 0-60 at ~4.7 seconds. It's a quick car.

I've seen everywhere from 4.7-5.2... regardless, that's not half a second faster than an LS1 WS6/SS. I've seen those as low as 4.8. 0-60mph is a pretty useless statistic anyway, since it doesn't really show you which car will be in front by the time you hit 60mph.

Imo, stock for stock, it's a driver's race.

I have a 99 vert and smoked the **** out of a 370z when I came across one (right after they first came out). I had bolt-ons, but the race was from a roll and it was a joke. If you lose just throw some headers and an LS6 intake on and call him out again.

I raced a 99? SS auto on the highway in my G35. He gave me the hit and never caught up again. Not sure what the issue was, maybe it was a dead spot for him. A 370Z has 30 more hp and weighs less than my car. I would recommend a low speed roll, these things kinda suck below 50mph for whatever reason.

.
I glanced at a few times on the 370Z forum. I didn't get that impression. Short wheelbase, stiff suspension, short sidewalls, I wouldn't think it would be a car that launches easily.

I agree too. OP is modded, he'll beat him.

Or drive better and save a lot of $$.

Or he was pacing you? Not in the same league as a G35.

That doesn't sound right. When I had my bone stock lt1 I would walk g35's all the time.

But to the OP if you can drive it shouldn't be much of a problem. Its a drivers race.

Stock for stock it's a close one but once the bolt-ons go on both it's LS1 all the way.

Sounded supercharged to me: pretty hard to mistake the whining sound of a supercharger. I tried to find my kill post on it since I believe it had either a sticker in the window? or on the rear valance? that said "Supercharged" or "350Zsc"? Been over a year now and I can't remember: In the post I thought he was bullshitting about a supercharger since I didnt think there was such a kit, but was told otherwise.

A blown 350Z would still rape a stock 370Z.

You would think, eh? Did some research on it and no NISMO came with a supercharger. Lots of references to the stillen kits though: apparently you could get up to 400rwhp before you start breaking things at around 8psi. stillen kit comes with a 5psi pulley, which puts it around 340rwhp.

All i know is the facts: i beat him; he was noticeably faster than a couple other 350Z's that I had raced, and about as fast as that 370Z. And he had markings saying he was supercharged, along with the supercharger whine.

I honestly don't care unless he beats me: then I woulda paid more attention.

Stillin provides the only twin screw style blower for the 350Z (and the only one to provide a warranty & CARB legal); however, it is the most lackluster in performance. Using their stage 3 kit brings a 350Z up to ~310-330rwhp. It is way undersized for that application.

The only way one will get 400rwhp is from a centri SC (Vortech, etc).

Here is a good thread about the dismal gains provided by the Stillen kit...

A little off topic but I found this to be interesting. Both of these cars have identical mods: intake, full exhaust. The Camaro has no tune. Funny how it gets so lopsided once the bolt-ons go on. And 13 year old technology to boot.

1) That's still a very close race.
2) The bolded part is SUCH A DUMB ARGUMENT. For the record, the VG/VQ series of V6s from Nissan is more than 20 years old. Not that it matters.

You really should spend more time on Honda forums as it is apparent by many of your posts you are not happy here. Try to find something positive to say for once.

Is it that I have a chip on my shoulder, or are you simply intimidated by me?
