Congrats to Ford... Took you what 17 years but better late then never right? I am looking forward to my first run in with one. But like I've said CHANGE THE TAILLIGHTS! ******* hideous... The front of them are bad ***. I preferred the GT rear style before.
But like my sig says...

How many more ponys can the little 302 make n/a. Stock 360, tune and cat-back = 42 more, how many more you think it will make. I say low to mid 400 average 2011 stang, very rare or never we will see a 500hp n/a 302. Just have to wait and see. About time ford step it up

Numbers don't lie huh? Yeah...it's pretty easy to tell that you're still a student. If you're not, the real world is going to smack you in the face with a dose of reality.

Agreed -
Sometimes I just love to sit back and see what develops around here

Damn, looks like my heads/cam car is not going to cut it anymore if bolt-on GT's will be hanging on my front fender! I guess it's time to start saving for more cubic inches

I'm excited about the new mustangs. We'll likely see a whole new HP war, at least between GM and Ford.
Dodge keeps talking about making changes to their power-trains, but they still have the same tired 5.7 and 6.1.
The 6.1 is great, but the price tag they have attached to it is ridiculous.
I think the new mustang is a good thing. And honestly, I would seriously consider one over a 2010 SS. Nicer interior (IMO), lighter, better handling, quicker. I have yet to sit behind the wheel of one though, so it's a little too soon to tell.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of engineer are you? If you don't mind me asking, of course. I like seeing intellectuals around here.

They are definitely no slouch. I'm still waiting for Ford to put a bigger motor in those cars. Obviously they're just showing that they can get a lot out of a small motor in stock factory form, but everyone already knows it's possible. I think they should step it up in CI.

but why? wouldnt it be so nice to have a bolt on 5.0 and kill a few cammed or bolt on only ls1's with over 40 less cubic inches
just like the mach runs so close yet only has to have 281ci to do it
of course, JMO
cool read though
p.s...i haven't seen the new camaro hit these numbers yet and it has a freakin 6.2...lame!

Now on the topic of the "Ford has to use a blower to make power" cry. All Ford did was make the power they wanted for the cheapest amount of money they could....isn't that what we all do anyways when we mod our cars? I don't want to buy a set of $1,200 headers when my $400 set of headers will do. I'd rather take that saved money and put it somewhere else.
But hey, thats just my opinion on things... Ford knows whats up! Always has....Sales numbers don't lie.

I feel you on that!!! I think I will give this 331 another season to see what I can squeeze out of it in the 1/4th. Then I'm jumping ship to something alittle wider and taller.

I'll grant you that I don't know everything, but if you can make that number something other than 4% I'd like to see it. This isn't thermodynamics, you can't just use a different reference enthalpy and call the other guy wrong. All I did was divide the number of cobras produced by the number of mustangs produced; that's a pretty cut-and-dried calculation.

as someone else stated, it is going to drive me crazy seeing these guys at my door with simple bolt-ons; while i am in a barely streetable, nasty loping, spooled, beast of car.
grrrrrrrr need more cubes
