Talking Speaking of Killing a mustang GT

As some of you may have read I killed a newer 99+ GT the other night...well this morning i think i wouldve taken a beatdown if traffic wasnt so shitty in my neck of the woods lol...i was coming home when i saw a silver 99+ 4.6 GT behind me so i slowed till he pulled up beside me we revved a couple of times but really had no shot at any kinda race...i did happen to notice a distinct whine from his car though so i rolled down my window to ask what he had going on ...turns out it was a Turbo'd 4.6/w FMIC...said he was in the low 12's but who knows anywayz so i found out there are some fast cars in my area...just wish there were some 3-4 lane streets to catch a race or two lol.

You should've followed him or set up something for later.

You heard a whine from a turbo car?

There you have it. It's just a matter of time 'till you meet your match. Now, I don't expect this thread will be open for long before it gets locked, so take it easy and keep enjoying the Z.

Why? Are you going to lock it?

Nah. I simply saw no race in the story, and things have been pretty tidy around here.
You've been doing a great job Unit.

i heard a distinct something...from a 40mph roll its hard to distinguish a blowers whine with a turbo spooling up...when i noticed the two pillar pod gauges i automatically assumed blower because turbos still arent the "popular" thing to do...yah and why would it get locked?

I misunderstood you. I thought you heard a whine when stopped.

I'm not sure why turbos are less "popular" than blowers. They are way more efficient and cooler if you ask me.

At least you ran into someone who can give you a run for your money.

its just that blowers are usually a bolt on...with procharger now going to the self contained oiling system and powerdynes and their belt drive system its usually just easier not to mention fo rthe most part being cheaper...also there are im sure others out there that would give a good race...i know the parents of one kid with a vortech blown 4.6 and there are others that you can just tell your not even competition for. My thoughts on 4.6's though is unless i hear a blower or SC its game...I should have my heads & cam on with in the next couple of months, combine that with my other mods and i should be trapping 115ish so i should be able to handle my own against 99% of the cars in my area that roam the street.

I'd like to run a TT system in my LT1 eventually. That'd be awesome.

yah i know but with only a set of 235/55/16's to push me down the track i doubt i could catch traction till midway through second gear at this point...i hope to at least be able to borrow some drag radials by the beginning of next season.

it seems like TTs are great for the street but nobody can get them to hook at the track...with so much low end tq they just wanna spin the crap out of the tires off the line.
