starting from 40 mph both in second gear the Z06 immediatly pulls a car length and by shut down at 100 mph is 1.5 cars ahead.

this was the first run of many planned runs for tonight..

Got a vid..But waiting for a chance to get my revenge tonight before I post it up..40 mph in secong gear..Felt like a dead spot for me so Im hopeing for better results with differant start points.

How is it possible that a CAMMED Z06, in the same gear as your V10 torque monster Viper, pulled you from a lower rpm start??? Did he cheat and grab 1st? I've witnessed enough viper midrange pulls to know those things make near as much power at 3000rpms as they do at 5000rpms. What happened?

I know vipers are beast but isnt a z06 faster than an 03 viper and vette was cam i would think it would be worst.. But this is what i thought and i dont know **** about vipers just that their v10 monsters with like 500hp lol i might be way off..

honestly both starting in 3rd gear we had several dead even runs before I did the the light weight fly wheel and light weight under drive pulley mods...So I dont know..Maybey i hit it a lil late or maybey 40 in second is a bad spot or maybey his car is just that much faster..cant wait till we do a few more tonight.

Yes you are correct. A stock 2006 Z06 will pull 3-4 cars on a stock 2003 srt10 viper by 140 mph....

thats at 440 rwhp verses 440 rwhp...But at 500 rwhp verses 500 rwhp it seems a lil more even..Atleaste it was last time we raced LOL..This time i got dusted!!!

even for the Z06, 40mph 2nd gear is not the best!! 1st in the Z06 is up to 62mph!! cant wait to see the video! you got a nice car... hate conv but coupes didnt come until 2006 in vipers i believe

Honestly I am not surprised. Z06 vs Viper same hp z06 would win. Z06 in first gear would get up into 70mph.

we went a good 8 times today and got them all on vid..

RKY said it was 6 to 2 in favor of the vette..Ithought it was 3 vs 5 in favor of the Vette...All in all it was pretty close between these two beaste. most of the races were within a car length..

I hope you guys enjoy these vids. this was my retirement from street raceing footage. I was pulled over by the local police. And I cant risk my job any more over illegal raceing..I will still frequent the SRK section. But Im out of the game.

Unless there were traction issues, which I'm sure there would be with that kind of power and street tires, the Z06 should have been in first. If they're making similar power, I'm also a little surprised the Z06 jumped out as hard as it did; I'd expect a strong jump from the Viper because of the torque, but it went down how it went down. Those Z06's are light and the 427 is no joke in the torque department, either. A view of the dyno graphs would be interesting.

EDIT: sucks about getting pulled over but it sounds like the runs were great. Can't wait to see the vids.

I think a lot of it is me being a lil hesitant to just slam the pedal down in second gear like I would have a few years ago before I wrecked two vipers slamming the pedal at 60 mph in second gear..I kinda ease into it nowadays..The car is only around 530 rwt sae but man does it hit hard!!!


BTW the 03 srt10 will do 58 mph in first and the Z06 will do 62 mph in first. But we both have tunes with our rev limiter raised so We are both around 65-70 mph in first gear...

Yeah, I wasn't sure of the gearing in the Viper, but I know for a fact that the Z06 would be in a good spot in 1st at 40mph because I've driven one before and it was surprising getting into a car that can do over 60mph in first gear. You guys needs some better tires so you can get some first gear runs in.

You were right you was being extermily careful, I dont blame ya, one i dont have but 450 to the tire cant imagine having 500+ and i have heard, i dont know personally, that vipers are a hand full at 450hp much less 500+ IMO

According to forza 3 (yes i know just a game) the same thing happened with similairly modded cars, but if you are both in second at 60 the viper stays even longer then with any other race.
