But yes, I do consider the new 5.0 a mid 12s car, and the new Camaro SS a mid-high 12s car.

There are none at all around me. Bunch of turds around here. I'm considered an odd ball in mine haha. Theres one kid I know of who has one that runs high tens on nitrous with a built 383 and mid 11's on motor. Pretty bad *** car and he drives it daily. Other than that, theres nothing!

Maybe soon I'll start seeing some nice ones around me. Till then, I'm pretty content on having one of the nicest in the area.

I wonder if this would be a possibility? My 3rd gen is more 4th gen than 3rd gen now lol, it would be nice to have a section that is dedicated to 3rd gen LSx swaps.

It would make getting answers to 3rd gen swap stuff a lot easier, it would also make a great place to compile write ups and tech info.

There are some huge threads and loads of info on thirdgen.org to bring over too, I know most of them are like me and bounce back and forth to find pin out/wiring info LOL

Nice!!!! I want to go forced induction in the future too.

We have a few clean swaps out here in So Cal but they get a lot of hate from hardcore TPI enthusiasts. On the regional section of TGO I have to continuously defend the LSX swappers lol.

I dig this thread and am considering a LSx 6.0 swap for my wifes 90 IROC vert but Gdamn, it doesnt take a LS1 to wipe out a late model eclipse. I would be more worried about a AWD turbo early 90's model. I have yanked a couple of those from a roll in my 1st gen SBC IROC. The LS1 is a geat engine but it isnt like you need one to be respectible on the street. One set of AFR's and a large roller cam with decent CR and a good intake will do the job.

TPI should have been put in trucks and trucks only. How it made it's way into the framerails of the vette is beyond me. Sure it's good for torque, but c'mon, a 4500 RPM redline? Sounds more like a diesel truck than a performance car! They can be opened up to flow more but the cost is just way out there and rediculous IMO.

I think people are confusing the '00-'05(?) Eclipses with the new Eclipses... the new Eclipse GTs are 265hp 3.8 V6 6spd. The old ones were 210hp 3.0 V6 5spds. Quite different.

Slow is relative... they run (even in mags) low 14s @ ~100mph.

Yup, modern V6's make more power than most 1980's muscle cars V8's.

SOME, but they are far and few in between, and will never respond to mods like a modern V8 will for the most part.

You are correct... for the most part. There have been dynos of bolt on 370z's making 330+ rwhp. While dynos are subjective and can be misleading there have been plenty of Z's making over 300 to the wheels on mustang dynos. I love muscle cars and I am restoring a classic mopar but its hard to say no to a car that makes impressive numbers (for what it is) and still handle great.

Btw nice kill!!
